I don't know, Luke sabers Anakin while he's off bitching about getting a raw deal or something.
No, actually, I would say Anakin, based on his considerably more complete training.

I'm thinking Anakin. His training seems much more complete. And he seemed to be much more in control of the Force.

Gonna go with Anakin on this one. Not only do his lightsaber skills appear to be superior, but it seems to me he has a considerably higher control of the force.
Course he's also an arrogant snot, so maybe Luke

What would be better is AOTC Anakin vs. post-ROTJ Luke (just pick a novel where hes a bad ass).
Because I have yet to read such a novel though, I'll pick Luke in either circumstance.

well, Im thinking luke before he made jedi master.
why would he win, tho?

My fault, I meant to say:
"Because I have yet to read such a novel though, I'll pick Anakin in either circumstance."
I honestly have no idea why I said Luke. Still, it would be a little less lop-sided if both of them were at the peak of their perfomance.

That's one tough bitch to decide. I would have to say Luke edges this one out. Just from thier duel in RotJ, you could clearly see more technique and control in Luke. Regardless if Anakin's training was more complete, it would still be complete by the time of RotJ and Luke shined through in that engagement.

Luke has more control over his emotions. Anakin obviously has very little.

Anakin vs. Luke?
That's stupid...
If Luke was able to defeat Vader - and please don't say Vader is not stronger than Anakin - then he would surely beat the shit out of Anakin.

luke didnt defeat vader

I'd say that Anakin's fighting is all "style over substance" and that Luke's strikes are stronger

Must I remind everyone that after all those years of training, Anakin made such a idiotic mistake when he extended his arm all the way to the right, to make it easier for Count Dookula to chop it, for absolutely no reason?
It wasn't like Dooku pushed his arm open with a blow to his saber, or that Anakin tried to block something. They were exchanging blows, and at one point they're standing in front of each other, and Anakin stupidly extends his arm, completely opening his defense, like he was Jesus fucking Christ hanging from the cross. Maybe he was about to scream "I'm the king of the world!"

I'd give this one to Anakin. Luke is good, but Anakin has twice the training time that Luke has, and has a dedicated teacher the entire time. Luke gets a little saber training from Obi wan and a few weeks of training from Yoda, but Anakin gets a decade of training of using the Force, and combat training.
Boba, Anakin might not have been stronger than Vader, but he was quicker, and unhurt. The injuries slowed Vader down (GL himself called him a crippled old man), and Luke only won because he ambushed Vader, and used the Dark Side in ROTJ. In ESB Vader was playing with him, and wanted to turn him, not kill him. If he had wanted to kill him he would have choked him, or just slice Luke's head after he took his hand.

Gotta go with Luke. He had...what, a couple months of training before he went to Cloud City, whereas Vader had been training for about thirty years. Luke held his own, lived to tell the tale, and, according to the EU, almost killed Vader. In ROTJ, shortly after ESB, Vader gets his ass kicked by Luke. Luke wouldn't have any trouble at all.

Under normal conditions Anakin takes it. Luke was only able to beat Vader once he let go of his hatred and contempt at what his father had become. Also i'd surmise that Anakin was stronger when he was pre-Vader. The man had been dipped in hot burning-as-yet-unnamed-stuff thats gonna effect your game no matter how good a fighter you where.
In a situation where both are open to the Darkside then Luke takes it. In Dark Empire, from what i have been told, he was completely badass.

Your right. What actually happened was a bolt came loose and Vader's hand just flopped off into the shaft. Hopefully his cybernetic hand is still under warranty.

In AotC Anakin is all flash. It's very evident. Dooku handled him easily. In ESB Luke was cocky and arrogant. He paid the price. However, in RotJ, Luke was in control and refined. Crippled or not, it still takes skill and strength to make the Dark Lord of the Sith fall. Don't forget, Vader lifted a man by his throat into the air and crushed his windpipe. Luke will prevail.

Maybe my eyes needs checking but I think when a men looses his hand along with his saber then he's DEFEATED!!!
Vader wasn't a crippled old man, read SotE and realize how he practice against specially designed droids.
A cybernetic implant usually enhances senses or makes the user quicker.
Although we never saw evidence for it why do you think Vader is slow?
Dengar's head was seriously damaged also and the new implants made him faster, deadlier.
Or think about this the fact that many assassin droids were made in the SW universe. These droids easily outmatch a normal human, so to produce an implant that can enhance the user's mobility also is not a big deal then.
On the other hand in RotJ Vader was confused by his parental feelings for Luke so he didn't fought with 100% either...
So for me this topic's result depend on Episode 3. If Anakin will slash Dooku I might reconsider my opinion but now Luke would win.

Not True, in fact the whole ROTJ duel it is alluded that Luke was clearly the stronger of the two. In the Comic and Novel it states that Vader was outmatched, and this was the begining of the duel, mind you.

Yes luke can beat vader. We have seen it. But vadar was a cripple and was way past his time. Anakin would beat luke however. he was trained better, still young and hold his own with a master(dooku) who wasn't a cripple.

Actually, in the novellization of AotC it mentions that Dooku was basically playing with Anakin at the beginning of the duel, and even after Anakin picked up a second lightsaber and started going berserk on Dooku, Dooku was just backing up and defending himself while waiting for Anakin to tire.
Obi-Wan notices from the start of the duel that Dooku wasn't in serious danger and was, in fact, fighting purely defensively because Dooku was smart enough to realize that Anakin just couldn't keep up the pace he was setting. Anakin got tired, gave Dooku an opening, and lost an arm for it. Doesn't mean in Ep. 3 Anakin won't have learned more nasty lightsaber tricks and be able to beat Dooku like a red-headed stepchild though. We'll have to wait and see that fight, and the one between Obi-Wan and Anakin, before we can really tell who is better in their prime.
