Rebel fleet strength...

Hi and sorry if this topic has already been posted:
Some Trekkies say that "if the Rebels won the Empire, the Feds could do that" (everyone knows how so flawed is that argument,so better not to discuss it).
But I have a doubt:do you know if someone has tried to calculate the total strength of the Rebel Alliance's fleet?.I doubt the Rebel fleet was so small as seen in ROTJ and surely they had much more ships that could not be seen in the film, simply due to limitations of the epoch (to have to build so many reproductions of the ships, etc. If the battle of Endor had to be again done now,in the epoch of the computers, simply put it would be breathtaking).Am I wrong?.Thanks.

As I stated in another thread, I do not believe the entire Rebel Fleet was present at Endor. The original mission was a point destruction raid and the taskforce was built to accomplish that mission. The presence of heavy ships was intended to interdict any support craft and to destroy any local defenses by creating a perimiter around the DS.

Thats my view on it.

The entire Rebel fleet might not have been there, but it is stated time and time again that the vast majority of the Rebel fleet was there. After viewing one shot from the Executors bridge window and spotting 6 Mon-Cal cruisers out there, I would estimate there were aproximately a full dozen Mon-Calimari Star Cruisers at the battle along with several dozen smaller support ships ranging from Nebulon-B Frigates, Bulk Cruisers, Corellian Corvettes, Strike and Carrack Cruisers, etc...

Canon (radio drama) says it was the entire Rebel fleet apparently. Although I haven't heard it first hand.

IIRC there was a small but significant rebel taskforce at the Kuati shipyards. (Boba Fett Trilogy, Hard Merchandise)

My best bet is that there were a few ships at Sullust left from the massing there, probably at least one or two (if not a sector fleet of ) Mon Cal cruisers at Mon Calamari.

The Rebels however, did commit the bulk of their ships at Endor. The fleet @ Kuat was composed mostly of outdated or low power ships. Probably the same thing throughout the galaxy, the Rebels comitting all of their best ships.

Also factor in that the Mon Cals had to devote a lot of their strongest ships to defending the shipyards at Mon Calamari. There has to be some reason that the Imps never shot up the main Rebel shipyard.

I heard that itwas the entire rebel fleet at endor too . But it always seemed pretty risky, to me atleast, for them to bring their whole fleet out into the open like that. Granted the rebels had to put away the DS2, but still......
