While hunting around for new scifi I found these quite by accident. Anyone familiar with them?

Looks to me like they were something along the lines of a cross between Factfiles, EGVV, and those Introducing... from the new movies bits that used to appear in Insider. Anyone ever seen them, heard of them, or have access to them?

Someone over at the Wooki probably has them.

It looks to be a kiddie pop-up book.

Didn't Bill Smith write the first EGVV?

And a whole mess of WEG stuff besides.

I actually happen to have both.

They do mesh the hwole "kiddie pop up books" with some WEG stuff. Some of the diagrams are actually rather interesting though (you have a pop up/fold out of the Mon calamari orbital shipyards, for example) They might have had some implied tidbits I have forgotten over time, I just haven't dug them out. (Its kinda like those illustarted "guides to the Star Wars Galaxy" That went along the lines of Sansweet's Star Wars encyclopedia or that Star Wars Technical Journal - really esoteric sources.

If you want somethign even more esoteric, there's a couple pocket books dealing with the X-wing and TIE fighter by David West Reynolds. They had some curious details (like TIE fighters firing plasma bursts.. but I digress) One of the more interesting things I always found about the X-wing one was that the X-wing's torpedo loadout was meant to balance its dogfighting ability with heavy attack roles (It was implied that heavy attack torpedoes could reduce engine performance by a considerable increase in mass.)
