Are the Jedi the strongest light side users?

You kind of assume this since they are so widespread and hold so much power in the Old Republic but are the Jedi the most powerful and knowledgable users of the Light Side of the Force?
One can say that the Sith were the most knowledgable users of the Dark Side, they had studied it so long that they had plumed its secrets more effectively than anyone else.
The Jedi though one has to wonder about. At least one group mentioned in the EU the Monks of something or other could teleport objects and entire ships by using the Force and could heal injuries that the Jedi (even Yoda himself) said were beyond their ability.
So are the Jedi the greatest users of the Light Side or just the most numerous and most organized?

They are the strongest as far as what they use it for. A galaxy wide police force that has political power (if wanted) and sway.
The other lightside users, aside from the Jedi, that I can recall, all seem to be planet bound and take no interest in galactic affairs. They concentrate on only the Force, although some of them call it different things.

What I mean is who is the greatest user of the Light Side of the Force. Who has the greatest knowledge of it and can use it for the greatest effect. What can a Jedi do that matches the ability to teleport entire ships across fairly large distances of space?

Slight nitpick;
Technically the Aiiting Monks (IIRC) weren't so much more proficient in healing than Yoda, it's just that Yoda didn't have the time (or even the inclination) to heal Car'das since he was waiting for Luke to turn up.

In that case, I would say the Keepers of the Whillis. (sp?) They achieved everlasting life through the Force.

On the subject of different varieties of Jedi and light side users, having just watched Star Wars Revelations gave me an idea- were there any hardliner Jedi? Jedi fundies, even? Those were were overly obsessed over the purity of the Light Side, or preserving the Order, or somesuch?

I think Jacen Solo could be counted as a Jedi obesessed over the purity of the Light Side. Or at least until the more recent EU books.

One could consider the entire council up to ROTS to be hardliners. ALl fo them were there cause Yoda said they could be and Yoda had long since become so unbending that the rules meant more than people.

I would say Jorus C'boath.
