This is cracking me up.
"Aren't you a little fat to be a Stormtrooper?"
"Well sit here and rot you stuck up bitch."

"Obi Wan Kenobi?!"
"I guess I'm not so fat now, huh?"

I just started watching it about halfway through. Friggin' hilarious!
Obi's lightsaber is just about the funniest nasty old man joke around.

That very well might have been the funniest Family Guy Ep. ever.

My god, i've got to give pops to the animation department for their job they did and their attention to detail. The Star Destroyers looked surprisingly good.
And they actually managed to make it funny, even acknowledging in the end that Robot Chicken beat them to the punch.
I loved both John Williams gags. "Oh my god, Aunt Beru! Uncle Owen! John Williams!" *we look over to see the chared corpses of the London Symphony Orchestra and JW's skeleton, still conducting.*
My only complaint was how it seemed to skip along a little fast. I understand the 1 hour time frame was short, but it felt like certain moments that could have been comedy gold were lost. Imagine what could have been done with the "droids we're looking for" scene.

When the Devastator flew above the camera and had a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker, I knew it was going to be a great show.

I just loved the "A parsec is actually a unit of distance not time" part

I quite like the episode and I didn't know it was the season premiere. When I looked at the ships I kept thinking it was done on Google SketchUp.

Interestingly, parallel with the premiere there was a great purge of Family Guy material on youtube- including the hilarious Epicac/ Pie Vomit skit that I always watch whenever I have an assignment and feel down.
Fuckers.

Overall, it was pretty good, and some part made me crack up especially (I thought it was hilarious when it showed the guy on Tatooine using a lightsaber as a bug-zapper, and Watto flies into it). About the only thing I didn't like was when Herbert Wan Kenobi did his dance-and-song routine after the Falcon was pulled onto the deck of the Death Star.

I literally didn't hear most of the last few minutes of the show because I was laughing so hard at that bit. Not as good as the
Robot Chicken special, but still good fun.

Good episode, definately up to a level that Family Guy hasn't been at in years.
Family Guy is actually really good when they cut out a lot of the CUT TO: gags.
Also, Seth Green is the voice of Chris, and the creator of Robot Chicken.

Gags like that are the reason why I have a love-hate relationship with family guy. The first 10 seconds of the song were mildly amusing, and then it is stretched out to the point where you are simply just waiting for it to end. Also, all the shot per shot references to the actually movie without any sort of joke or punch line is not funny. You are simply referencing the movie and anyone can do that.
All in all it was pretty funny though.

And Seth McFarlane is the voice of Peter, hence the banter between Chris and Peter about the Robot Chicken special at the end.

Why?
Incidently, does anyone know if Rush Limbaugh led his voice to the show? It certainly sounded like him. ("Lando Calarrisian has been made Chief Administrator of the Vespin Mining facility. Two words: Affirmitive Action.")

Yes, Rush did lend his voice, which I found particularly funny.
P.S. It's

Another part that cracked me up, and I'm surprised no one mentioned yet was when they jumped to hyperspace and Peter says something like "Going to hyperspace weirds me out." then the Dr.Who Music and intro starts.

Yeah, the reference gave me a good laugh, that and the 'Red October'.
Biggest cricitism would have to be that it was too short, that they could've fit in scenes with more humor potential and left out stupid stuff like Kenobi's song-and-dance.

I laughed my ass off at the music.
I found it interesting that they actually used the explosions from the movies -- and not the SE flaming ring bullshit for Alderaan and the Death Star, but the original explosions. I suppose it was to demonstrate how faithful they were to the shots from the movie?

Agreed. I was expecting a joke about Greedo shooting first, and the scene between Han and Jabba, with Meg in the roll of Jabba.
