Attempting to Calc some hyperspace speeds and locations.

Sorry to bug everyone, but I'm trying to get some hard numbers here to calculate some hyperspace speeds from the Republic Commando novels. First, I'm trying to pin down where Omega Squad was woken up in Hard Contact, as it takes them 8 hours to go from their original location to Quiilria.

The second one occurs in Triple Zero. Omega squad gets stranded in the middle of the Corellian-Perlemian Hyperspace Intersection, specifically near the planet of Kelarea (which I've been unable to locate. They're informed that the Majestic, the Fearless, and Delta Squad are all inbound in about 1 hour, 40 minutes. The Fearless in coming from Dinlo, down in Bothan space, and Delta from some place called the Chaykin Cluster. I've been unable to locate this spot aside form Sev's dialogue of "this is nowhere near Correllia, have they gone rogue?" I've also be unable to locate the Majestic's original location.

Here are some maps I've made to highlight some of the regions.

The original.

The location of Quiilria and the rough region in which Omega is stranded (sorry, I've been unable to locate the planet they're supposed to be near, and Wookieepedia isn't helping)

This is where the Fearless is coming from.

Once again, any help, however slight, will be very much appreciated.

The official map is incorrect according to absolute canon regarding the expanse of the integrated galactic civilization (throughout and even beyond the galactic disk) and the galactic morphology (AOTC maps show the galaxy to be a well-defined grand-design [2 arms, Padme's Yacht map] or near-grand-design [maybe 4 arms, Jedi Library map] spiral galaxy with a large bulge - corresponding to the Deep Core - and definitely not a galaxy with tightly-wound, numerous, and poorly defined spiral arms with a very small bulge like the cartoon map).

Take for example the Endor-Sullust "Sanctuary Pipeline" (retarded concept, I might add). In the higher canon (ROTJ novelisation), we know this route was actually a few hundred light-years (rather than a large leap across the galaxy), and nothing special. Kamino is not within the disk either, but the cartoon map claims it is.

Anyway, from these aspects, combined with the bizarre orthagonal 2-D projection of the 3-D galaxy (obscuring part of its disk, and compressing the rest), you will not be able to calculate meaningful distances and routes using it. I'd like to create a more realistic map using real astronomy, absolute canon, etc. (like the ST Cartography project), but I need people who're good at graphic design and have time and energy.

That's not an official map (though it's based on the cartoony NJO map). It's the dreadful map created by the person behind the (now defunct) site navi-computer. Modi's map is similar and it cares just as less about the few planetary locations we know about from the movies, particularly AOTC and the novelizations (for example, they insist on placing Geonosis in the central bulge despite the fact that the map in AOTC establishes that Geonosis, and hence Tatooine due to their close proximity, is located in one of the arms).

If someone only based their maps on the excellent (though inverted) Complete Locations map instead...

Damn. :banghead:

Okay, does anyone have a link to the official one? I've managed to spot one on wookiee that is somewhat similar, but the resolution is god-awful.

I'm not sure if there's any official map with the locations you're asking about.

No official maps of SW are reconcilable with filmic canon, and should be regarded as good guesses or cartoon interpretations and not cartographically rigorous. I'm afraid your intended analysis is difficult to impossible to accomplish with the available data.
