The full powers of the Jedi

I was just wondering if we could have a thread about discussion about Jedi abilities. Just how powerful are they and what can they do? I've heard some examples of Jedi abilities of the novels but prehaps a big thread of them so people who don't know much about them can easly find them would be good.

So main premise: When someone says "a typical Jedi" for use in versus debates. What type of powers are we talking about? How tough is a typical Jedi? What are there limatations?

And does anyone want to discuss specifics like Jedi TK and Precog limatations?

Well, in regards to their abilities, probably the most pronounced is their telekinetic (tk) abilities. It seems that they work best on inanimate, non-living objects (a lightsabre, a droid, etc) at farther range. They can move living things, but they need to be much closer (example: when Darth Maul hurled Kenobi into a pit in TPM, his hand was within inches of Kenobi's face).

Abilities and skill levels in them seem to differ from Jedi to Jedi. It seems each one has a sort of focus-area that they excel in. But some of the general powers are:

Force Speed (running)
Push
Pull
Throw (I.E. lightsaber, other inanimate object)
Mind Trick
Force Leap/Jump
Danger sense
absorb/dissipate energy
Telepathy

And then of course all the Control/Alter/Mind stuff you find in RPG sources.

I'd guess the best examples we have of "average" Jedi would be Qui-Gon and Obi from EI.
They've got formidable speed (and translucence!), jump, push, and lightsabre-related abilities. There's also the ability to absorb the shock of a fall, which Obi-Wan in particular exhibits quite well.

The EI Visual Dictionary lists some interesting powers for some of the Council members, such as the ability to induce a powerful nausea in opponents.

Don't forget the power to make cheeseball lines work on hotties as demonstrated by Anakin on Amidala.

Don't forget the fact that Qui-Gon could shield his hands from the intense heat his Saber generated when melting the wallls in TPM :D

Perhaps the greatest power of all. When you can look at a first-class hottie, say "You are in my very soul" and actually convince her to spread her legs for you from THAT, this is truly unimaginable power.

That would be self-induced anesthesia, I believe.
