There will be people who will insist the glove must have absorbed and redirected the bolts. They will of course have no answer as to why this thin flexible material isn't used for Stormtrooper armor, since it has demonstrated much greater resistance if it in fact did what they claimed.

Since I can see the future, I'll let you in on the rebuttal:Sea Skimmer wrote:There will be people who will insist the glove must have absorbed and redirected the bolts. "It's too expensive for the Empire to produce in mass quantities, even though they can build Death Stars in secret. The reason it's so expensive is it probably utilizes mass transphasic crystalline neuro quarks to subsidize the J-field intensity modulation phases. Quantum. All this is moot, since the glove can't beat the navigational deflectors of a Fed ship."
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Your next addition should be a highlight of the Asteroid impacting the ISD in TESB.
Have one pic of the ISD right before impact and draw an outline of the bridge tower.
Then have another pic after impact and superimpose the outline on that pic to show that the bridge was in fact totally obscured by the asteroid debris, so that it is clear that we cannot tell how much damage was actually done to the bridge (to refute the Trekkies who insist that the ship was completely decapitated or worse yet, destroyed).
Also, have a link directly to this part of the page if it is part of a larger page.

Further proof, accepting the EU as canon, Corran Horn in "I, Jedi" is able to absorb energy and use it to power telekinesis (which he can't do otherwise because he's defective). Luke tells Corran "My father could absorb blaster bolts and use the energy to perform telekinetic 'tricks' as well."
This is slightly screwy, of course, since we see Anakin Skywalker perform telekinesis without first being shot with a blaster on numerous occasions. Still, it's possible that Vader can use the energy in that way as well as a "normal" telekinetic force pull or push.

Thats what I meant by genes, should have been more clear.Mad wrote:Huh? Corran was stronger than most with absorption and mind control, and incredibly weak with telekinesis, but none of his powers were exclusive to his family line. His Divine Shadow wrote:That was just a quirk that was in Corran Horn's genes.
I didn't mean to imply they where exclusive either.
Though I've not seen anyone outside Corran's family absorbing power for purposes of telekinesis.

That doesn't make any sense on your part. Just because he could use the energy to power Force tricks without straining himself, doesn't mean he HAD to.Kerneth wrote:This is slightly screwy, of course, since we see Anakin Skywalker perform telekinesis without first being shot with a blaster on numerous occasions. I didn't say Anakin Skywalker *had* to use the energy that way, I said he *could* if he wanted to.Illuminatus Primus wrote:That doesn't make any sense on your part. Whats interesting is that (due to an analysis of a debate I've been involved in in antoher thread) there is some interesting suggestion about "energy handling" capabilities for Jedi:
In "I, Jedi" Corran Horn and his grandfather (in the vision) are both able to completely drain lightsaber energy more or less in an instant.. this suggests hundreds of watts to several gigawatts of energy-handling capability (estimating conservatively from the TPM door-melting scene using my own calcs). While The "Halcyon" line is known to be "strong" in other ways due to its inability to use TK (its inferred that the "line" may have been skilled in other abilities, not just energy draining or illusion) - it seems reasonable that this would give us a rough "order of magnitude" estimate for others (particularily powerful Masters like Yoda) This is also substantaited by Qui Gon's abi lity to stick his hand close to that melting door without any apparent ill effect.
Additionally, we can consider that the fact Jedi can handle blaster bolts (which could easily be in MJ range, and are at least mid to high KJ) can handle blaster bolts without difficulty substantiates that.
