Lightsabre Power Settings

They've been referred to in the EU, but do they ever appear in the Canon?
Well, in the scene where Anakin is cutting through the Tusken "yurt" thingy, I noticed that the lightsabre sound is quite faint. Might he be using a lower power setting in order to avoid being detected? The jury is out...
EDIT: Damn starwars.com "Image Attack" picture doesn't show up. You all know the scene, no pic needed.

There's the shot in ESB, at the start of the lightsabre battle in the Carbonite Chamber, where Vader's sabre activates slowly instead of instantly as usual.

The best example offhand I can think of is in TPM where Qui-Gon cuts through the blast door of the Trade Federation battleship to get at the bridge.

Hmm, I didn't see that as much of a variance.
But then again, I subscribe the to theory that a lightsabre blade cuts by shearing electrons from atoms, so it was technically making the door melt itself.

I tend to agree with the fact that there are lower power settings. For example, in ANH, on the Falcon...Luke's saber looks very white-ish as opposed to teal blue.
Then there's the scene in AOTC with all the Bear Clan younglings training with helmets on. You'd think they'd probably have powered-down sabers so they don't actually impale or slice each other.

These scene in ESB where Han guts a tauntan seems to be another example.

Those are training sabers. But it shows that lightsabers don't all have the same power.
