Need help identifying a ship

Post by Bounty »

This may be a bit of a longshot, but in Star Wars: Clone Wars (2002), the loading screens for the missions on Raxus Prime feature a bulky ship flying in the planet's atmosphere. It looks a bit like a flying cathedral, and for some reason it has what looks like smokestacks. Might be this one from a different angle.

Does anyone know if this is a ship from somewhere else in the EU? Is there any info on it or is it just background art?

That thing looks more like a mobile factory than any kind of starship.

Might be, Raxus was said to be an industrial planet. I'd just like to know if there's anything else known about it.

Well, here's another factory ship, and it also has weird-looking vertical tubes on it. I wonder what they are?

In my eyes it vaguely resembles an Imperial Dungeon Ship, though I am by no means a fleet expert, so I am probably wrong.

The one that wjs7744 posted is the Ark Hammer, it was a factory type SD that built the Darktroopers. It gets blown up somewhere, all I remember is that it allows me to build Darktoopers at any planet that I control in EaW :D

I was under the impression that the tubes on the Ark hammer were subsidiary factories that did assembly to feed into the rest of the ships production facilities. They may also be mission specific modules that can be detached to provide specific support

The other vessel looks to be some sort of repulsor scavenger. (maybe the little slit at the bottom works as a molecular furnace?)

Maybe; it cruises the junkyard sucking up stuff through the ring (the white slit is just one edge of it). If you're fast enough, your tank can catch up to the ship. Put yourself under the ring and it'll pull you up into the air.

Yes, I know; I meant the first one.

Sorry, your response was right below the pic, so I thought you were talking about it. My bad.

No problem. I guess I was unclear; I should have quoted the passage I was responding to.

It's mentioned, i believe, in tha game...if we're talking about the same game (vehicle combat game, came out after the movie Attack of the Clones) then it IS some kind of factory ship. A recycling ship, actually, used to suck up scrap on some planet and turnit into useful stuff.

The actual name, i forget, but it's just some random scrap hauler-cum-factory ship as far as i know.

Well, there does appear to be something hanging from the bottom of the ship, from right around the middle. Anyone know what to make of that?

If you're talking about the bits on the shaft, they look like small manipulator arms to me, perhaps for working with the scrap metal or depositing whatever product it makes. If you're talking about the pointy stuff coming out of the engine seciton, I would say they might be sensors.
