Someone at TFN got an early copy, and so, here's the short of what happens, who lives and dies....
Warning for spoilers...
Ok....
1. Jacen kills Isolder.
2. Jaina kills Jacen.
2. Jagged Fel becomes head of the Moff Council
3. Allana is "presumed dead" by the Hapan State, but in reality, Tenel Ka gives her a false name and identity, and sends her as a ward to be raised by Han and Leia.
and finally, most ridiculously.....
4. DAALA BECOMES CHIEF OF STATE OF THE GALACTIC ALLIANCE
Yes, you heard me.

By the way, the direct follow on to LOTF is a novel called
"Millenium Falcon", starring Han, Leia and Allana and written by Luceno.

Oh Wow, I'm so glad I bailed out of this nonsense over a year ago.
Who wrote this many infinitely many times cursed book? That bitch?

It was Troy Denning.
I haven't actually read it myself, so I can attest to how the book reads. Most of the spoilers were predictable, but the Daala =CoS is really weird.
As someone pointed out on TFN, it would be like Milosevic escaping justice, roaming around the Urals fighting bandits for a while, and then returning to get himself elected EU President.

I was under the impression that Daala was a laughing stock among the fan community, and that nobody except for Traviss liked her. What possessed LFL to bring her back in such a prominent way?

Does anyone else agree with me that the post RoTJ EU should have conclusively, definetely, and finally ended with TUF?

Well, she's not any better regarded at TFN than she is here.[/i]

Summary for the LOTF follow up:
The Story Continues...
With the end of the brief but brutal reign of Darth Caedus comes a period of unexpected stability. Under the strong hand of former Imperial Admiral Daala, star systems set aside their differences in the hope of forging a lasting peace.
But for the Jedi, Many of whom had once looked to Jacen Solo for inspiration, the transition has been anything but smooth, as Luke Skywalker strives to chart a new course for the Order, and groped for an understanding of what ultimately drove his nephew to embrace the dark teachings of the evil Sith Lords.
The road to reconciliation has been harder still for Han and Leia Solo, who have now lost both of their sons. Some measure of solace comes in the form of Allana, Jacen's Force sensitive daughter, whom the Solos have adopted at the request of the girl's mother, Queen Tenel Ka of Hapes. But Han, especially, craves the distraction of action, so he, Leia and Allana embark on an investigation into the origion of the Millennium Falcon, the charmed starship that has seen Han through so many years of adventure.
By all indications, their quest should be safe, innocent: something to keep them interested and busy. But as they piece together the clues of the past, hints of a more profound mystery begin to reveal themselves, and a faceless threat lies in wait--one that has already launched a tentative assault not only on the Jedi Order, but on the Force itself.
The Millennium Falcon novel has a release date of December 30, 2008.

"Who are the Ad-Wizards that came up with that one?" (cookie for the reference)
Lucasbooks should just save the effort and just put out a bunch of paperbacks with blank pages in them and slap "Star Wars" on the cover. The same people who buy the dreck they are putting out now will buy the blank books, and they won't have to pay as much to print them or worry about paying writers.
It would also be an upgrade in story quality.

So what the fuck did Luke do during the whole LOTF series? You remember Luke, the guy that stood toe to toe with Darth Vader and not only defeated him, but redeemed him. Luke who almost single handedly defeated Palpatine. TWICE.

No, the last Star Wars book I got was TUF and I found it at least a worthy point to bring the New Jedi Order saga to an end if not the entire SW EU.
Despite the many failings of writers like KJA they at least had the intresting premise of watching the birth of a New Republic / Jedi Order during the conflict.
I really cannot be bothered to waste time and money on desperate attempts to keep the cash cow rolling in a dead franchise. We have already gone through fighting with the Empire and the moral arguments with the Jedi so realistically there is nothing more that can be done with the Star Wars EU except turn it into a really shitty and repetative soap drama. I want to read Star Wars books like Rebel Stand / Dream. Not read shit like Traitor or Balance point where I have to sit through pages worth of trivial garbage and the pedantic ramblings of the author's perceptions on the Force through the characters.

Wait, I forgot one other thing.
Jacen captured Mirta Gev and reverse-engineers some sort of nano-virus from her that will kill any one with Fett genes and releases it on Mandalore.

Wow, what a steaming pile of shit. I'm so glad my EU experience ended at a (relatively) high point with TUF.

Obviously, he was on convalescent leave, spending his time recovering from the lobotomy KJA performed on him, followed by 100 blows from a stupid stick, and apparently followed by a castration Traviss performed on him.

Yeah, Fett and his line can't ever return to Mandalore, or they will die horribly.
Should also kill off that annoying twonk Venku and any other former clone who decided to go Mandalorian.

I hope this is fake, what a joke. I was hoping that Jacen would live and we would see new empire or something within the next few books...

Well, we already know how the galaxy will end up in 100 or so years - the situation in the Legacy comics - an Empire with a Fel on the throne, and a Galactic Alliance ruled by a Triumvirate and loosely associated with a Skywalker-led Jedi Order.
So, Jagged being put in basically leadership role of the Empire by the end of LOTF was expected. Jacen's death was basically a 50/50 chance (redemption and hermit-style exile was the only other real option).
As I've said, the only unexpected, and really, batshit crazy bit was Daala becoming head of the GA. Which, as someone in TFN stated, was like Milosevic being named head of the EU.
Weird. It's almost as if Denning looked through the LOTF character list and grabbed a random name.
That being said, I don't know the specifics of this, so it could be a superbly written work and everything makes sense, so take with a grain of salt.

Not likely, considering that would upset the status quo of "Grrrr, Empire bad, Emperor bad, democracy good," too much (even though hack writers keep portraying the New Republic's democratic government as weak and indecisive, leading to civil war after civil war, anarchy, and other nastiness that'll make people think, "You know, the Empire wasn't so bad under Palpatine").

As I've said, they already disrupted that with a "good" Empire in the Legacy comic series.

HA! I wonder if this is a jab at Traviss's *Mando-bukkake. Perhaps even the other SW EU writers are fucking sick of it.
*She has gone way beyond wank and one hand job. She is in full Mandalorian gang bang mode.

If I was a conspiracy-minded gent, havokeff, I'd suspect that. It does seem awfully random...

I don't even know where the EU is anymore, last book I read was Allegiance. Good thing I didn't follow my plan for reading the EU chronologically.

You actually started it?
. The Dark nest trilogy was the point where I said "Fuck this, TUF was the best the EU had left, it's going downhill from here". And I was right.
The millenium falcon book could be very interesting, with awesome Roguey adventuring. But the "Another epic menace, [Ripped from KOTOR2] returns" bit makes me leery. That, and Han being in his 80's, but without very effective age treatments (Compared to what should be available with full body cloning, but that's a separate rant).
