Just in time for the 31st anniversary.

If you haven't already taken a look at this, I highly recommend it...

The Third Edition -- What Has Changed?

-The third edition's most noteable changes are that it has been massively re-edited. Some things have been re-organized, others expanded, and perhaps the most significant is that a lot has been deleted to make the book read better and not have so much repetition and redundancy.

-There has also been reformating. While the second edition brought major format changes (ie font face, etc) and divided the Star Wars section with a new chapter ("Enter Luke Starkiller"), this edition has added two more divisions: "Purgatory and Beyond," looking at the release and franchising of the original film, and "Returning Home," which divides the Episode I section into pre and post screenplay phases.

-Expansions and elaborations. While most of the second edition's expansions came from Rinzler's Making-of book, this third edition includes more information, has clarifications and even some corrections, and has many expanded sections.

-The second edition had an index feature which the third edition currently does not. It may be added in the future. I also decided to drop the "Conversations on Dark Father" appendix, as with the additions, especially in the appendix "The Dark Father," I feel that it has become unnecessary. It is available to read online as an article, or in PDF form--both of which have been re-edited further since the second edition/

The early versions of TPM sounds interesting, but I can't seem to find the drafts on the internet. Where did he find them?

The third draft of Episode I (back when it was known as "The Beginning") is available here:

Yeah, but that's basically the same as the shooting script. I meant the one he mentioned, where Obi-Wan was acting alone in saving the Queen and finding Anakin.

There are snippets available (on for example the TPM Insider's Guide CD-ROM and I guess that there are snippets in Bouzereau's Making of... book as well).

Yeah I don't think he is claiming to have access to any secret exclusive documents or anything. He's simply working with the material that is freely available (if some out of print or obscure these days), and the rest is speculation and reading between the lines.
