The fate of Supreme Overlord Shimrra

We are now into the fourth and final year of the Yuuzhan Vong War as featured in the Star Wars: the New Jedi Order story arc. With the Battle of Ebaq 9 (Destiny's Way), the tide of battle has turned into the Galactic Alliance's favor and slowly, but surely, the Vong are being pushed back, as hinted at slightly shown in the newest novel, Force Heretic I: Remnant.

Now, with the anticipated release of the final novel, The Unifying Force, how do you feel that the man responsible for four years of bloodshed and genocide, Supreme Overlord Shimrra meet his fate? I personally feel that he should duke it out with Luke Skywalker; Jedi against Vong, Lighsaber against amphistaff, light against darkness.

Any other thoughts? [/i]

Yes and maybe Luke should die in this battle, taking that guy down with him. *Dodges several large objects being thrown at him* Or, he could recieve grievous wounds from the battle and...*Makes Vader breathing sound*

I think one of the younger Jedi, probably Jacen, will do it.

We find out that the Emperor had another, even more secret Clone facility, and that he also cloned Thrawn repeatedly to fill every Admiral slot in his fleet, and that the Empire has secretly been building its fleet in uninhabited systems for the last three decades. They quickly take over the galaxy, leaving only the Insiders to oppose them effectively, and returning us to the SW we originally fell in love with.

I think this conflict has to force one Jedi down the darkest path.....Jacen Solo will be the next Emperor

Only with the principle characters are now pushing 40-50.

That's what computer animation is for. :D Besides, you can introduce a new caste, its the style that I'm shooting for.

If SW is to continue beyond NJO they need soething to fight against afterwards. No more token dark jedi either. Someone needs to have a rise and fall similar to that of Anakin Skywalker and they'll need a lot of Jedi blood on their hands.

I think that the Galactic Alliance will retake Coruscant and the Vong will be driven back, but that they may still be something to consider militarily.

One question that I have is when is Unifying Force due to be released?

They should drop a moon on him, just like what happened to Chewie.

Rebuilding the Galaxy after the Yuuzhan Vong are driven out will be enough to fill several books, I think.

If I had to guess, I would think that Jacen's going to kill him.

If that's what's gonna happen, I will be supremely pissed off. Jacen's been such a whiny bitch until very recently, I can't stand him.

I have to agree with those that say Jacen will kill Shimrra. It's been said to death that Jacen has a special role to play in the story arc. Of course he seems to be the most fleshed out character as of lately, a complete 180 from where he was at the beginning of this story arc. I actually like him now.

I threw up a thread a while back after I finnished the last book before Heretic that I don't think Shimrra is the real leader or brains of the operations. I think he's a figure-head. Omnimi will be shown to be the real Vong leader. And perhaps the downfall of the Vong will be finalized after one of the Jedi, say Jacen, discovers this, and spreads word to the rest of the Vong. Everything they'd fought and died for was a shame. Their whole belief system would be shattered.

It'll probably end cheesily with the then-jaded Vong changing their ways and sharing the galaxy with the GA.

Hell, Jacen should've been killed, not Anakin.
I saw something prospective in Anakin...
But IG-88E is right, Jacen's a whiny brat.

What needs to happen after this series is another actual Sith War. I mean like the very first one, not this off and on crap that has happened in the last 4000 years of Star Wars.

Anakin pissed me off, too. In fact, I hate all three of the Solo children, at least, the way they are in NJO.

I agree. I liked Anakin far more than I like Jacen.

Hey, that's just what I would like to see. Make a fun epic fanfic idea, though, wouldn't it?

I am so with you there man. There is only one problem though.

The Sith are rather... gone. Extinct. The race and now their teachings. It would be hard to bring the Sith back, unless some sort of secret sect in the Uknown Regions set up a place of establishment (similiar to the first SIth/Dark Jedi who went to Korriban)...

I so wish... I miss the Sith.
