Proof Most EU Writers Are Complete Morons

Post by Illuminatus Primus »

I haven't had a chance to pick this up yet; is there any mention of Sarapin (the volcanic energy harvesting world that provides 80% of the power for the Core worlds)? I see that its not listed (and rightly so, it's not a terribly interesting place to visit), but it'd be neat if it got a nod. Thanks!
What this poor soul says is true I'm afraid.

EU Sources from Galactic Battle Grounds or Force Commander say a heavily volcanic planet called Serapin produces 80% of the Core World's energy.

Obviously this will be ignored for blatent stupidity.

But what moron would let that get published?

It's basically worthless, as it comes from a RTS.

You think that matters to them?

I don't care how scientifically ignorant you are: a culture which makes moon-sized battlestations capable of generating power to completely obliterate Earth-sized worlds is not needing fucking geothermal power to light their most populace worlds.

And how do they get this energy from Seraphim to the other worlds? :?
If they can transport energy across interstellar distances they should be able to build weapons with interstellar range.

 Okay, so someone's saying that 80% of the power used by the Core Worlds (Think of trillions, perhaps quadrillions of people, each using far more energy than the typical person on Earth) comnes from geothermal power generated on one planet? Not only could the Empire use more advanced techniques, but I'm pretty sure you would have to annihate the entire planetary mass in a M/AM reaction to get nearly enough power for the worlds to use.

The planet's name is apparently "Sarapin".

There is a highly disturbing rumour that this will be the planet on which Obi-Wan fights Anakin in Ep III. I think we can toss that in the garbage compactor together with the 80% energy quote.

It seems they ribed that idea off from DS9. I remember Major Kira having to force some of her Resistance friends moved from a Bjoran moon/plants that they were gonna tap as a power source.
