What would (insert name of SW character) drive??

OK, we had "What Would Jesus Drive." Then came "What Would Satan Drive" and now comes what cars the various SW characters would drive.

Darth Vader would drive a 1987 Buick Regal T-Type. After all, Car and Driver's article for this car was "Darth Vader, your car is ready!"

Emperor Palpatine, on the other hand, would drive something more luxurious, less vulgar and really really expensive - probably a Jaguar XJR. Or, for that matter, a Rolls-Royce. And painted jet-black, of course.

Grand Moff Tarkin (and 99.9% of Imperial officers) would drive an old, black, generic-looking luxury sedan.

Luke Skywalker would either drive an old Toyota Celica, a souped-up Honda Civic or something like that. Come on, he's supposed to be a typical teenager in the middle of nowhere who likes going fast in his spare time.

Uncle Owen.... he's a farmer. And not a terribly rich one. So I guess that he drives an old, beat-up pick-up truck or an even more beat-up SUV.

Han Solo would drive a 1970 Chevrolet El Camino. It has everything a smuggler could want from a car - loads of cargo capacity and it's pretty fast. Or perhaps a 1992 GMC Typhoon.

Boba Fett??? Perhaps an old Dodge Charger R/T with darkened windows and a hole in the muffler. One of the ideal cars for high-speed car chases which a bounty hunter often would find himself in.

Lando Calrissian would drive a heavily customized 1949 Mercury Coupé with a psychedelic paint job, animal print interior and hydraulic suspension courtesy of an old Citroën. He would also have a BMW, given that he's the closest thing you get to a yuppie in the SW universe. But he's also the closest thing to a pimp, so he'll certainly have the afore-mentioned lowrider Mercury too.

Jar-Jar Binks, if we assume he would be able to even know how to drive a car, would probably end up driving some weird Russian car from the 1970s.

Nute Gunray, Viceroy of the Trade Federation, would DEFINATELY drive a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. And the same would probably apply to all the other Neimoidian officials. Except for perhaps the lower-ranking ones, who would drive E-Classes.

Suggestions??

Han Solo would drive a 1969 Mustang Shelby GT 500.

Admiral Piett would drive an Excursion.

Yoda would drive around in a Deusenberg.

Obi-wan would drive a Tucker.

Threepio would drive an Edsel.

Lando would cruise around in an '82 Corvette.

Artoo would cruise around in a PT Cruiser.

Boba Fett would have himself a Aston Martin DB7 Zagato.

And Jar Jar Binks, hopefully, would have this car.

I can picture Han and Chewy flying an early model C-130 somewhere in south east Asia or Latin America. Either now or in the 60's and 70's.

Well, if we go with the whole What Airplane Would THey Fly...

Emperor Palpatine: A380. Size Matters
Han & Chewie: Tricked-out early C-130 that outperforms the C-130J when it works
Grand Moffs: Some private jet (Gulfstream, maybe)
Luke Skywalker: An old Cessna, hell, maybe even an ancient Piper Cub
Princess Leia: Boeing Business Jet

Or, for that matter, a 1960 Chevrolet Corvair.

By the way, why would you think that various characters would drive those cars?? I can understand why Binks should drive a Pinto, and why Lando could drive a Vette (or perhaps a DeLorean) and Solo a 1970 Shelby Mustang, but Obi-Wan a Tucker?? And Yoda a Duesenberg???

You hit Vader on the head, a 1987 Buick GNX, only comes in black.

but Obi-Wan a Tucker??
"An elegant vehicle, from a more... civilized age."
And Yoda a Duesenberg???
Old guys like to drive around with class. There's a reason that, in the '20s and '30's, "It's a Deusy" referred to something that was the best of its kind.

I believe Vader's choice of car was settled some time ago.

By the way. here the list continues:

Lama Su would drive a 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. Firstly - he's a prime minister and therefore NEEDS an expensive car. Secondly, he's also a tall, lanky alien with freakishly long limbs, meaning that he can't fit into most cars made for humans.... with the exceptions of really, really big american land-leviathans. And having a half-metre neck makes it impossible to drive anything that's not open-top.

Count Dooku would drive a Bentley or Rolls-Royce. The vehicle of choice for nobility everywhere.

Jango Fett would have a souped-up Holden Commodore. His dialect and profession says all about that. (the Commodore has also been used as a police cruiser, and isn't Slave 1 a former law enforcement vehicle??)

Darth Maul would just drive the most sinister vehicle available, whatever that is.

Thrawn, as evidenced by His Divine Shadow's post, prefers older Corvettes.

And this would be even funnier if it's a 1st generation Celica!

You forget Thrawn. He would drive a Ford F-150. Heavly upgraded of course. Daala wound drive a BMW Zed 3. I drive a Chevy Silverado 2003.

One of the souped-up sports versions, I suppose??
Daala wound drive a BMW Zed 3
Or perhaps a Volvo C70 convertible. Dark purple, preferrably.

Hans Shelby would have a ugly faded paint job.
I think Vader would be more likely to drive a porche. fast, small, and luxurious.

By the way, Ysanne Isard would probably drive a Facel Vega.

The Emperor doesn't drive. He's in a stretch limo.

Vader, with all his techno-needs would be in a typical James Bond-esque gadget car.

Han and Chewie in a Suburban, perhaps with a U-haul trailer.

Luke is in a pickup, complete with gunrack.

Lando is in a pink Caddie pimp-mobile, complete with the fuzzy dice.

Leia in a Mercedes or BMW.

And the list continues:

I speculated a lot about whatever Mara Jade would drive, but I finally settled on a collection of hot rods, including a 1964 Ford Thunderbird among others.

Padmé Amidala, being Naboonese and all that, would probably be found on the back seat of a Peugeot 607 during her regal years, (with Cpt. Panaka driving the car) but when she finally gets her driving license, she'd settle for a Honda Insight.

Panaka himself, however, would not have anything special. Probably just a Honda Accord.

Mon Mothma?? Perhaps an old Rover.

Admiral Ackbar, would drive the submersible Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me.

And Zam Wessel.... well, given her choice of Airspeeder, I can easily imagine her behind the steering wheel of a Honda Prelude. Preferrably one of the fastest versions available.
