New VS thread. Maul vs Luke, Maul vs Dooku

Not sure if this one has been asked, but so far I've seen the Vader vs Dooku thread, and I think Anakin vs Luke or something similiar. So what say you to this.

Maul vs Luke

Maul vs Dooku.

Going to have to go with Maul over Luke. Maul's got way more invested in the training in skill. I think Maul would go over Luke even with just one saber.

Maul vs Dooku....hmm. That's a tough one. Without a Force power battle, just a straight up fight, I think Dooku might be able to get in around some of Maul's flashier and more complex moves. He might be able to wear Maul down by making the fight more simplistic.

If it's a pure sabre battle in either fight, Maul wins. Luke or Dooku could win if they fell back on the Force, but Maul's too much for them in sabre-skills. That's my take on it.

You mean ROTJ Luke Skywalker or NJO-Era Luke Skywalker?

Because while Maul might be able to kill ROTJ Luke, by the time the NJO era rolls around, I'm betting Luke would slaughter Maul in a fight.

I'm guessing Dooku would have been able to beat Maul, considering he's replaced Maul. I doubt Sidious went with a weaker apprentice after Maul.

Maul vs ROTJ Luke

Sabers- Maul would slaughter him easily. Luke was at best half trained and only the fact that Vader was his fagther saved him.

Force Power- Luke has some control which would help but it's still a Maul victory.

Maul vs Dooku

Sabers- Dooku. Better trained and a much better swordsman.

Force Power- Dooku went toe to toe with Yoda and did all right. Maul dies easily.

Maul would slaughter Luke.

Dooku was able to survive against Yoda. I think he could beat Maul.

Dooku should be able to beat Maul. He's trained better, no to mention he has greater power in the Force. Plus he took on Yoda.

It depends on a lot of factors. The main one is what era of Luke are we talking. Luke in the NJO would take Dooku so easily it wouldn't be funny. Luke as Palpy's Apprentice would take it even easier. Luke ROTJ dies screaming like a girl.

Era is vital.

ROTJ or ESB Luke gets owned by Maul.

By the Thrawn Trilogy, Luke might be able to put up a decent fight but he'd probably still lose.

Luke as Palpatine's apprentice in Dark Empire? Takes Maul with some difficulty.

Luke as Jedi Master? Takes Maul with Maul putting up a good fight.

Luke as of "present" in NJO? Maul has no chance.

Alright here's my take:

Maul vs. Dooku

Sabers- Dooku kills Maul, look how fast Dooku took care of Obi-Wan in Ep2, and Obi-Wan was the one who whooped Maul's ass in Ep1.

Force- Dooku easily wins this, he's almost a match for Yoda in Ep2, Dooku wins this easily

Luke vs. Maul

Sabers- Maul kills Luke if it was ROTJ, I mean Luke hadn't received ANY lightsaber training at my knowledge, where Maul had been trained to use a double bladed lightsaber, not an easy thing to do.

Force- I don't know about this, if it's ROTJ I think it may be a tie. Luke wasn't still fully tained but he does have a good handle on the force by ROTJ, I think Maul barely take sthis one. If it was EU, like around the Thrawn Era I think Luke would take him, I mean the son of the choosen one, he could've taken anyone if he had been properly trained during the ANH-ROTJ era.

For Luke...the time set means virtually everything sadly enough.

Luke:ESB...dies like a girlie man
Luke:RotJ...dies whining
Luke:Thrawn...dies but in a fair contest
Luke:DE...kicks Maul's ass and wonders what the hell it was.
Luke:NJO...After two saber strokes while trying to kill a buzzing fly.

Force powers are pretty much the same except in Thrawn he would win.

Dooku...beats Maul silly. He has enough chutzpah to take on Yoda...he can whoomp Maul.

Against Obi-wan, Maul proved to be overconfident. Dooku appears to be a more patient and dealy adversary.

I wouldn't exactly count that as an ass-whipping. Obi got pretty badly owned. He got lucky in the end. And that's moreso apparent according to the site that Lord Poe recently threw up on another thread.

ROTJ Luke would die such a horrible ending against Maul

NJO Luke would sweep Maul and Dooku

Dooku would beat Maul... Wasn't Dooku an master of saber vs. saber combat?

Bah, Maul was killed because he forgot about the other Saber, not because he was less skilled.... (my own personal excuse)

I think if ROTJ Luke gave into his rage he could defeat Maul or dooku, but without that dark side power he dies quickly.

Vader takes them all down though.
