Continuing from the last topic.
In the latest Threat of Peace issue one of the sith mentioned to one of the jedi "if revan's blood flows through your veins...". It seems that Revan did have a child with bastila.

So how long until it's established that Revan is some distant ancestor of the Skywalker clan?

Have you read the EU? Someone will probably think it is a cool/great idea.

i have. George lucas still vetoes ideas if they clash with his vision (he shot down the plageius novel). So i think it's safe. i've also met some who think the idea is shit

Statistically speaking, after four thousand years Revan's kid would probably be the ancestor of a large fraction of the human race. It doesn't prove anything, or at least it wouldn't in a sane universe.

And yet this is the same guy who greenlighted those Legacy comics.

Yeah, but that is the same thing as him green lighting a novel... "Does it contain X, Y, or Z? No? Good. Go ahead. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes."
It's not like he is reading over treatments and shit. That's what the licensing department is for.

Well yeah.
I suppose a better example would be Boba Fett.
The glorified delivery boy of the OT gets a father with a significant role in the PT along with becoming the basis for an entire clone army (not to mention the various Fett/Mando masturbation novels out there) based solely on fanboy popularity.
Revan, similarily, has a strong fanboy following.

Yeah, but Fett was Lucas's creation, and he always thought he was cool. The fact that the fans liked him so much was just lucky I guess, and gave him an excuse to try to tie in the OT to the PT more.
Revan is just some guy in a video game he probably has only heard about. If he hears, can we make this guy who is popular, Luke's ancestor from 4000 years in the past? He will probably be like 'yeah sweet, new Camaro here I come.' because he is going to realize that an ancestor from 4000 years ago, isn't really an ancestor, if you get what I mean.

Midichlorians, man. Midichlorians will make it happen.

Yes, I'd have to agree that an ancestor from that far back would be largely meaningless. It would be a bit of Skywalker family trivia, nothing more. I don't want it to happen, but I wouldn't really give a shit if it did.
I wonder how long it will be until there's a story about Revan's child.

Prediction: It'll turn out Revan used the Ancient Secrets of the True Sithâ„¢ to travel through time and impregnate Shmi Skywalker.
The Exile then did the same and became Han Solo's mother.
Hey I can totally be an EU writer! Give me money to make up more retarded crap please!

Actually he has admitted in interviews he hated Boba Fett, and has never really understood why fans loved him. It was the reason he gave him a name of a particular bully he hated.
In fact in his mind...Boba Fett died in the Sarlacc and cried like a bitch.

Really? I wonder why they made such a big deal about him then back in '79 (Holiday Special, exclusive toy, first glimpse of TESB blah blah blah)

Well it's clear Boba Fett was meant to be a badass and appeal to kids fans but that's the thing. He's such a manufactured badass, and for all his buildup he never actually does anything aside from some tracking, package delivery and dying like a punk.

Better yet: the Skywalker clan is the offspring of Revan and the female Jedi Exile from KOTOR2.

Lucas, himself may have hated the fucker, but other writers may have not. This does have some thoughts that why did in TESB was he actually the silent badass, and yet in Jedi....he died like a two dollar bitch to a blind man.

I don't think Lucas ever went as far as to say he hated Boba Fett, only that he was an irrelevant bit character and he found the fan adoration for him mystifying.

On the point of Patriarch Revan Forebearer of Sky Walking, how many generations is it until the descendant is unidentifiable with the ancestor making such a factoid entirely meaningless? I thought it was like within a thousand years worth or am I remembering some type of retarded pseudoscience?

jjmiller stated that the chances of the protaginist of the kotor comic having descendents showing up in his new project is even less likely then anyone encountering a descendent of Alexander the Great. So yeah, the chances are pretty damn low.

my point being that the galaxy's size meaning that a guy from anakin's time encountering revan's descendent is pretty damn low.
