Quarren seperatists?

Post by weemadando »

In AotC you can clearly see Quarrens in the "War Room" and in other seperatist scenes.

Doesn't the EU say something about them being undiscovered for many years?

Or am I wrong.

Saxton deals with this in the Tech. Commentaries.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

It's also been speculated that the EU material holding that the Mon Cal and the Quarren were undiscovered species during the time of the OR is Rebel propaganda, but I personally don't feel there is enough evidence for this.

Undiscovered?

It would be quite strange since they're living on Mon Calamari along with the calamaris.

The calamaris have huge interstellar travel cruisers. Let's say fleets of them and they travel a lot. So I think they have been discovered quite early along with the quarrens.
Although the quarrens don't like to travel as much as the calamaris they can be found on several planets, like Tessek on Tatooine.

Seeing one in the separatist HQ is a good link to the EU.
Several books have mentioned that during the imperial assault on Mon Calamari a quarren lowered the planetary shield.

The second major question is why there should be so many Quarren on Tatooine, if there are any of them away from their homeworld. Surely they should prefer moister environments? They may be followers of podracing who are only visiting for the Boonta Classic. Alternatively, their presence may be a sign of Hutt organisation and influence, if the Hutts have activities on any other worlds where Quarren live in appreciable numbers. If the Hutts prefer to keep their living quarters humid then Quarren may be ideal household employees and slaves. Perhaps their presence is not willful; they may be a sign of Mos Espa's endemic slavery, with many Quarren having been secretly captured and removed from their native planet or colonies ("abducted by aliens" from their compatriots' point of view).
Jabba kept Quarren workers at his palace and they were supplied with "baths" of water to keep their skin properly taken care of. I believe this is mentioned in "Tales from Jabba's Palace"

There is one definite point of awkwardness in the continuity surrounding C-3PO. Books and the C-3PO CCG game card published before The Phantom Menace stated that he was manufactured 112 years before A New Hope. Since The Phantom Menace is much more recent than that, these references are disproven unless the droid is less than entirely Anakin Skywalker's creation.
Anakin scrounged up C-3p0 from parts found on Tatooine, Threepio could have been assembled by Cybot galactica all those years prior, dismantled on Tatooine and then reassembled by anakin. I saw this in SW: Tales

What happened to the remaining half of Darth Maul's lightsabre? Was it also recovered by the Jedi? Is this the evidence that removed Mace Windu's doubt about the Sith identity of Qui-Gon's attacker? Did Windu keep this device as a trophy? (NB. The Maul-style sabre seen in the portrait in Episode I: Visual Dictionary is actually the weapon of Eeth Koth, a member of the Jedi Coucil of a race the same as or similar to Maul's. [Emissaries to Malastare comic.])
-Eeth Koth is a Zabrak from Iridonia just like Darth Maul. (according to starwars.com, he was also on the Jedi Council indicating that he was incredibly strong in the force like Maul) Since these are the only two Zabrak jedi seen in the films is it possible that Eeth koth and Darth Maul are actually genetically related? the lightsaber was probably taken away to the jedi archive, since no Jedi seem to use red lightsaberrs I doubt Eeth Koth actually utilized it for his own.[/quote]
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.
