SW fleet operations questions

1. Given the known peculiarities of repulsors, in atmosphere VSD and Accalamators, is it plausible to argue that SW warships can essentially ignore orbital mechanics when coordinating fleet/ground operations such as orbital bombardment?
Certainly, we seen a lack of such considerations, but this could easily be attributed to simple inattention. In uinverse, the reason could be it does play a factor, but not one that's addressed onscreen to others.
2. The Battle of Coruscant in ROTS had warships slugging it out in orbital space. what would be the consequences of large, hypermatter equipped warships being destroyed? Certainly, we can see warships breaking up. Would there be environmental concerns, even with the planetary shields up?

The first question is simple:
They don't have to ignore it. All they have to do is provide enough force to counter it.
The second - depends on the properties of Hypermatter, which are widely unknown. If it's simply matter that is very densely compressed and at the same time inert, it might very well be relatively harmless.
Given that it is described as being "confined to hyperspace" and " being annihilated when pulled into real space", it seems that the real space component of hypermatter is harmless unless the hyperspace component is specifically pulled into real space.

The ICS describes chunks of ships plummeting from orbit during the Coruscant battle as playing havoc on the surface. Beyond that, it's just a case of them going boom.

On issue #2, I would think it would be a concern considering the energy those reactors are outputting. Though not quite the same situation, the Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross Sections mentions a Republic Battlecruiser giving off a large amount of radioactivity and fracturing a planet to its core in a hyperspace accident. Also in the Galaxy of Intrigue Rulebook it mentioned that even with planetary shielding up, a hyperspace collision would kill millions on a planet like Coruscant due to radioactive fallout.

Quite irrelevant, given that they were not traveling at hyperspeed.

Yes, as I said originally not the same situation. What I was trying to get across is that it sounds like a great deal of radiation would be emitted if the containment system of a hypermatter reactor were to be destroyed. Just a guess though, the radiation could be exclusively be attributed to coming out of hyperspace and the interaction with real space but who knows.

Slightly unrelated but for point two ... before it was further detail in the expanded universe the destruction of the environment on
Honoghr was attributed to the wreckage from space combat. Apparently now it's from some toxin with the catchy shorthand THX1138 *rolls eyes* anyway as it was first written I believe was simply crashed battle wreckage.
