I believe he is asking if there are any starfighter groupings larger than a wing (72 craft, if I recall correctly) in Wars militraries.

Well, in the real world (at least in the USAF), there are Numbered Air Forces and Major Commands. There was also something a while back known as an Air Division.

This probably doesn't apply to the SW universe, where a wing is basically 72 fighters and maintainance. In the real world, a wing not only includes the Operations Group (which has the flying squandrons and operation support), but also includes a Logistics Group (which includes the maintainence squadron, supply squadron, transportation squadron, and the contracting squadron), a Support Group (which includes mission support, security forces, the civil engineering squadron, services squadron, and the comm squadron), and a Medical Group (which includes the medical operations, aerospace medicine, medical support, and the dental squadron). The last wing I was with was the 314th Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB. It had 90 someodd C-130s and thousands of personel assigned.

I left Little Rock in mid July and won't be on another base full time for almost 10 months. I have my senior year of college coming up in a week and a half.

By the way, I visited Eglin and Hulburt about two years ago. They got some sweet planes at those two bases. I hear that Eglin will be the first to get the F-22.

I tried out for the Air Force. But I failed the physical portion. Turns out I have a spine.

GO NAVY!
