Galen Marak's Force Repulse

Let me preface this by saying that I know that Marak is kind of a Jedi wank thing, and I know games are on the low end...nearly non-existent scale of canon. Trailers for such games are practically useless for canon. This topic isn't designed to deal with those issues. Treat it as if we've already acknowledged that TFU series is wank, and move on.

After watching the preview for TFU:II, (located here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgvzSDcCH4g), I began to wonder what the mechanism was behind the Force Repulse he uses. Traditionally, I thought it was simply a variation on regular TK, but we see shattering of bodies that transform into what seems to ultimately become ash. Wouldn't this be a ridiculous amount of energy far in excess of any typical TK we've seen (even in this series)? Is there perhaps another mechanism at work besides simple TK here, and if so, what would that be? Are we looking at TK shearing and tearing effects here? Extreme heat? Or can we only chalk it up to some mystical property of the Force?

Well if you want an EU explanation, Galen may have figured out how kid Anakin performed a pyrokinetic attack on a an alien assassin by burning him from the inside out.

It's called 'The Force Unleashed' for a reason.

The visuals in the trailer seem to indicate a wave effect that spreads outward and crushes or "ashes" the living target from outside in. At least that's the way it looks from the visuals.

So the last option. It's pure Force energy/magic that has no explanation.

I think Darth Vader put it best in A New Hope.
Darth Vader wrote:Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
We don't exactly have to take him literally here, but when he tells Tarkin later in the film that he shouldn't underestimate the Force, he's got a point.

If Galen did indeed figure out how Anakin used pyrokinesis, something even Anakin didn't know how to actually control, then it stands to reason Galen can make it work in other ways.

It's obviously just meant to be 'boy, check out how awesome this telekinesis is'. It only cremates the Stormtroopers very close to Starkiller, the ones further away are just thrown away. It doesn't make a great deal of sense, but don't underestimate the Force. :)
