1) If my hazy memory serves, Boba Fett's armor was described way back in the day as being Clone Wars surplus. Was this ever addressed before AoTC?
2) When was the Victory class cruiser renamed the Victory class star destroyer?

For the second, I think they made the change because of how it sounds.
Whats more threating: Cruiser or Destroyer.

It's been brought up in the EU a number of times. Essentially it (and by extension Jango's) are Mandalorian Commandos armor. Pre-Clone Wars equipment.

2) When was the Victory class cruiser renamed the Victory class star destroyer?

Probably in some sort of redesignation program as the Empire introduced larger designs. In the more militarized Empire they were nothing more than destroyers, and low end ones at that, where as they were much more impressive in the Republican Navy.

Reason for the Victory question was that in an illustrated guide I glanced through at a bookstore years ago, what appears to be the same ship was called a cruiser, yet now is referred to as a star destroyer. That and I thought that those might be the type of ship pursuing the Millenium Falcon after blasting out of Mos Eisley. They are of similar appearance to the ISD.

Question, the landing ships used by the Republic in AotC, were they Victory type 1 SDs?

In universe: they were once cruisers. But with the introduction of larger more powerful ships they were bumped down.

Those are ISDs that pursue the Falcon. What makes you think they weren't?

DUMBASS! Those are Acclamator-class troop transports. At least try to do the most basic research. That really is something you should know.

Didn't Han Solo call them cruisers? I know they were ISDs, at least ISD models, but the similarity in design, and the old cruiser designation, coupled with the dialogue...

No, those were ISDs. Han just called them by the wrong name if he did call them cruisers. They're definetely ISDs. Mark 1s in fact.
