hmmm, well, it goes like this: why do the sith not get really depressed? i mean they've got all the power they want, and have enslaved most the people in a galaxy, what do they do next? do they not see the purssuit of absolute power is like, really dull once you get there? have any sith just got really dissallusioned and just give everything up?
not overly sure why im asking this, but hey.

I don't believe the Sith ever held absolute power over everything. There was always some little bastion of freedom not yet oppressed like the rebellion that needed crushing or some liberty, which hadn't been removed.

but still, do none of them just get depressed that they're obsessing over something as vacuous as subjecting the entire galaxy to their rule for their enjoyment? lol, i just had the image of a "born again" sith. ace.

The presence of the dark side of the force makes comparisons with normal human emotional and psychological problems pretty pointless to me. They're doing it because that's what the dark side does. So they likely don't suffer from anything.

I think this most clearly illustrates the point.

I forget which book this came from, but they tried to explain why a lot of people went over to the Darkside, Palpatine in particular.
Luke was postulating that Jedis saw the Universe as mind-boggling and chaotic. Those who serve the light let the Force speak to them to guide them through it, those who turn to the dark try to impose an order upon the people. Which is why Yoda and Palpatine who were probably equal in power, or Yoda was probably greater chose different lifestyles. Yoda and Ben went into hermitage, away from everything. Palpatine rose to power and enforced his will and idea of order onto the Galaxy.
So I guess the Sith have a lot on their hands to keep them busy, and I'm sure they get more than their fair share of dancing girls too.

Think a little...
How would they get bored?
Palpy always knew that Vader at some time will try to take over his seat...
...and there were several other high ranking imperials who just waited for the right moment, although they weren't a big threat for Palpy.
Plus the Rebellion...
Good test ground for new weapons and an exciting, daily strategy game for Palpy...

Well that and keeping him alive...he didn't have the entire galaxy under sway and keeping fear in everyone takes alot out of ya(think about it...the instant you relax you sychopant followers will literally believe it as a sign of weakness)
So yeah Palp had a rather full plate.

That's actually a pretty good idea for a game. Think about it
Star Wars: Emperor you'd have to prevent uprisings by instilling fear (BDZ's anyone???) crush the rebellion and keep the military in line. What could be more fun than that????
