Yesterday I beheld this great edifice in all its glourious splendour and magnificence. My TOR-playing friend showed it to be and I was stunned, aghast, humbled, bewondered and awestruck. And now I can't help but thinking of the gold-ensculpted visage of this hero, whose name may forever be exalted. For thousands of years his statue stood there on Nar Shadda, tall and proud, gleaming in its golden glory, polished by retinues of slaves bonded in jewel-encrusted shackles. It is... it is beautiful.
And I bet it is a life-sized statue. That great Hutt grew to such enormous sizes and secreted so much money from his glands that he was deified, canonized, by the Huttese profit prophets and became worthy of such a monument to greed.
Now I must ask. Who was this great and terrific slugman? Does the enchanting depths of the Expanded Universe, in all its gripping tales of wonder, chronicle the exploits of this mighty hero? What did he do in his life? What foes did he vanquish? What intergalactic delicacies did he consume with his prehensile tongue? To what degrees did his immeasurable girth span? How many space wenches did he bed, and how many of them were crushed into pulp by his sheer mass? These are questions that must be answered. There must be an interesting backstory in the EU for this great and mighty being.
What a hero. Man, Hutt Space. Best space. Ever. Not like that shithole Tattooine.

Its the most beautiful rendering of Havok the Hutt I have ever seen!

I decided to scour my in-game codex to see if there was any mention of this Hutt, but to no avail.
However, I did find out that the earliest use of hyperdrive involved shooting starships out of cannons.

I think it's Karagga the Unyielding, who's one of the endgame raid bosses. Head of the Hutt Cartel.

Hyperspace cannons, yes. It's in the EU already. The Corellians, I do believe, developed basically what is the current hyperdrive system which was far superior than the cannons.

Three candidates come to mind:
Koozak the Hutt, who defeated and enslaved Xim the Despot,
Blotus, who was Chancellor of the Galactic Republic for 275 years
and Budhila Hestilic Amura, who is the inventor of present-day Hutt-culture.
Duros. It was the Duros, who developed the modern hyperdrive.

Hyperspace. Cannons.
Just plain awesome. I now fervently wish to see this crop up in a fanfic or EU work somewhere, for the sheer awesomeness.

Why does no one believe me when I say it's Karagga? He's got the same hat, which can be looted!

FUN FACT OF THE DAY: if you read the EU, Hutts are hermaphrodites (although IIRC not at the same time.) And Jabba was at one point female. OR maybe it was a different hutt. AT this point there are so many of them its hard to keep track unless they turn out to be force wielders.

They should never have stopped doing that. It would have made things magnificent.

If they kept using hyperspace cannons they probably would have figured out at some point how to throw bombs across the galaxy in a few hours much sooner.
CANON FACT.

CANON FACT.
Although given that probe droids are fired in expendable canisters, it seems that hyperdrive can be relatively cheap and that hyperspace based weapons should be relatively easy. I would expect a hyperspace missile of that caliber to be roughly equivalent to a Tomahawk cruise missile.

Wow... right over your head.
How is TOR Shroom? I need some non FattynerdTM feedback.

I dunno. I've always been of the Rationalist (tm) opinion that the ability to throw gigatons of explosives halfway across the galaxy in a short timeframe was a key, under-explored theme of the Star Wars movies. I mean fast hyperdrive travel was such an instrumental part of the movies (as amply from ANH to ROTS) that it is utterly bewildering that they never conceived of using this as a weapon. Indeed it should have reshaped how combat, planet destroying, and every facet of society (why bother with starships at all? You can just send your cargo via hyperspace.) how serious are we taking this?
On another vein, Hyperspace cannons would have been a tribute to some grand old fiction:

My non-fatty friends love it, my rig is too shitty to play it, but as a favor one of them allowed me to behold the monument to the greatest Hutt in Nar Shadda since he knew my fascination of morbidly obese slugmen.
You can troll Sith as a Bounty Hunter and make fun of their grim dark and edgy sithy ways. My friends were disappointed that the Sith couldn't customize their warships with tattooos and piercings and like use lightsabers to slit the wrists of their fake-TIEs while going CRAAAAWWWWLIIIIIIIING IIIIIIINNNNN MAAAAAH SKIIIIIINNNN THEEEESEEEE WWOOOOUUUUNNNDDSSSS WILLLL NEEEVAAAA HEEEAAAALLLLLL!!!!!! Because that would've been the greatest.

Which you can only do via mass shadows generators which create gravity wells to knock things out of hyperspace. But space is big, really big. And hyerdrive ships are fast. You have to set up grav wells in advance of where ships will come out of hyperspace or you get nothing.

Gravity well generators.
Mass shadow generators are what was used to blow the fuck out of the last planet in KOTOR2.
Plus it is possible to set up hyperspace activated gravity mines, (see Wraith Squadron)
