POSSIBLE explanation for hypermatter

I read an interesting theory regarding String Theory, recently. If you snip a closed string (somehow, I have no idea how you can do this) you can release an extraordinary amount of energy--orders of magnitude more than even M/AM reactions. I don't think that it completely fits the information that we have about hypermatter, but I have yet to see another, better theory advanced. Is anyone more knowledgeable about this than I am? Does anyone know if it is a reasonable solution or not? I still don't think it releases enough energy for the big ships of SW, but at least it's better than M/AM.

The only thing we need to know about hypermatter is that it works. Science fiction shouldn't bother trying to explain every piece of minutiae to its audience.

It's a good theory, although I don't understand it, and I don't know how you would get a closed string inside the DS.

Maybe you're right. I thought that this idea fit SOME of the criteria for hypermatter (namely releasing massive amounts of energy), but it did not appear to fit in others (it would have to be harvested through COMPLETELY unknown processes, etc).

from the Descrition In SWIC for AOTC It sound that Hypermatter is a concertated form of matter.. something like Bosie Einstein condensate, where several hunderd atoms ( actually would be no real limit) are merge then into a super atom ( actually this a poor example, but it the one alway used).. This allow them to store alot of fuel in a small volume..
