Imperial superweapons are cool. Which one is the best?

Definately the Death Star. Planet-destroying firepower combined with virtual invincibility. The Suncrusher only carries 11 resonance torpedos, and places a lot of power in the hands of just a few individuals. The Galaxy Gun is probably the best one for long-range destruction, but is relatively easy to destroy, as are the World Devastators, which also take a lot more time to wipe out a world.

The Galaxy Gun allows for the most damage in the least amount of time, as it can be fired at numerous targets and destroy each planet in a day or so. The most efficient is the World Devastator, which actually builds a fleet to protect itself, but has the problem of requiring considerable time and effort to destroy a planetary body.

I think the Galaxy Gun is the best, here are the reasons
1. Hard to find, it doesn't give off light like a giant star, its not going to be easy to find in a galaxy, maybe impossible.
2. Small, its a lot smaller than the deathstar, so it could hide in a asteroid belt (aslong as the asteroids weren't too dangerous)
3. Range, if you were to park the Galaxy Gun 70 thousand lightyears outside of the galaxy, and fire in towards it, it might only take 12 hours to reach a target on the far side of the galaxy, (the missle can go from a core world to planet on the rim in only a few hours) And other ships might not have the FTL capability to reach the galaxy gun, nevermind detect it at that range
Those are a few things that give it an edge on other Imperial super weapons, which is why its my favourite, especially vs b5 races

1. Resonance Torps are not only good Aginst Starts but aginst ships as well and if you wanted to rolay FUBAR a Space Station the Torp can act as a VERY high powered Torch meaning half a million Degrees of Direct Heat which few vessels can survive
2.Quantum Armor(Woohoo!) It can take the Kinitecs of crashing through an ISD, A Half Powered Shot from the DS(So even a full powered shot from an Ecplise would not do much) pluns numerous Heavy Turbolasers hits taking that strait from AOTC thats 200 Gigatons each or Scalled thats Teratons of Damage, And the DS shot? Thats means that little ship can take anywhere from 200 Teratons to 15 Yottatons of damage and still keep going!

One should be more then able to BDZ a planet with a World Devstators turbolasers. I know that causes lesser ships to go kaboom in case you did not noticeBean just so you don't blow a gasget, just to let you know, the DS's super laser just grazed the sun crusher, basically didn't hit it, and it sent it out of control, and damaged all its systems, thats why he went into the blackhole, cause it coudln't control itself any longer
The ship was in the Beam's Field just not emursed in it(IE missed by less than five meters, good shooting too)
That still does not shake the fact it got hit by 36 Ties and no scratchs, 200 Giga-ton TurboLasers with no Scratchs and as it was said she tested everything should get a hold on it and nothing damaged it

--Advantages : A mobile battle station where troops ships and droids can rest, refuel or rearm. It has the ability to bring fear into anyone who looks at it. It has the ability to destroy entire fleets without taking a scratch, a powerful shield protects it. Ability to generate massive amounts of jamming, and brings good sensors onto a battle field aswell.
--Disadvantages : Because of its huge size, it is a huge target, anything in the area can hit it. It also suffers from "all your eggs in one basket" where is if it goes, you loose a lot of equipment, information, droids, and human life, especially high ranking officials. It costs a lot of money, to build and maintain. It also has to be at its target, and can only destroy 1 planet every hour.
SUNCRUSHER:
--Advantages : Extremely tough armour, that can withstand many terratons of energy. Very small and quick, able to hide almost anywhere, even inside space wreckage. Ability to destroy entire solar systems,
--Disadvantages : An extremely small crew, that being just one. If that crew member is knocked on unconcious, the ship is a drift. Or if the crew member is taken over by telepathic signals. The armour won't fail, but the internanl dampening might. It has a fixed number of missles to destroy solar systems with. The shockwave of the super nova will take time to reach the worlds in the system, giving those worlds time to evacuate leaders or key personnel which you might want killed a long with the planet. The ship has no shields, allowing enemy sensors to scan the hull, and try to investigate the make-up of the armour.

I've already posted the advantages earlier, but for disadvantages, it has the best of everything, except for its inability to destroy large capital ships in 1 shot in close combat, it doesn't have a close in weapon system for capital ships, besides your typical HTL's[/list]

So? Do you know of any other fighter sized craft that can take a glancing hit from the DS and not vaporize? No. You missed the "Eye of Palpatine." And arguably the Eclipse or the Sovereigns can be classified as superweapons.

It was the REALLY crappy superweapon battle-station designed for the Emperor and featured in Children of the Jedi. It was left over from a bygone era, and is completely automated. Luke found it over the planet Pzob, and with the help of Callista (who long ago fused herself with the thing's computer to tell it to stop), he manages to destroy the thing. Terrible book. Not worth reading, if you haven't already.

Well all things considered an Eclipse/Soveriegn is FARmore effiecnt than a DS. Its more highly mobile, so it can run if necessary. Its smaller and thus saves the need for supplies and what not. Its far more powerful in size to fire power, since a DS can kill a planet entirly, while an Eclipse can just crack the crust, which'll still kil everyone and everything on it I believe.
And ISDs just plain look cool. Frankly I'd rather be in command of an Eclipse than a DS.
