I don't know, there is no way that Yoda is physically stronger, so Maul should beable to use both edges furiously. It not only would be a cool battle, but and almost impossible one to see, just swirling colors of red and green with the occasional black and tan showing.

Yoda is pretty agile for an 880 year-old, and he could fight with Dooku, so I'd say Yoda would win, but it's hard to tell. Darth Maul was killed because he was facing 2 people, but 2 blades aren't much help when dealing with one person.

I think Maul didn't even try attacking with 2 people, but was more on the defense. That is why he tried to split them up so he could handle one at a time. Because he split them up, I think he wasn't able to defeat either one when they were both attacking. They overwhelmed him. He was trying hard just to defend himself. So I don't think that he would have killed Qui-Gon if Obi-Wan hadn't been separated from them.

This is ridiculous. Yoda mops the floor with him.

Maul won't use both blades. Against Qui-gon, he only used one blade. The only reason he activated the second blade was because he was facing both Qui-gon and Obi-wan at once. Yoda wins easy. I mean, he can even block Force Lightning.

Which brings us to another point...WTF is up with that scene?!

Is the lightsabre's power source able to absorb and retransmit an amount of extra energy, through the blade? I guess that makes sense...but it's still sort of weird.

I'm betting Obi-Wan just used the force to focus the lightning on the sabre blade to absorb it or something.

Still it makes it damn funny that Luke tossed away the one thing that could protect him from Palpys lightning in ROTJ.

That it does. Of course if he'd actually finished his training with Yoda he might have actually made it to the class on The Sith.

Thematically it makes perfect sense. In many myths about great knights and famous samurai, one thing stands out - these are warriors that are literally one with their blade. Their swords become legendary, mystical objects in their own right.

Thus, one shouldn't be too surprised if Jedi are able to channel their power through their lightsabers.

"Hmm, yes. Of one thing, knowledge you must have... the Sith. Yes. Bad motherfuckers are they, mmmm... bad motherfuckers."

Of course, it probably doesn't help that his teacher died in the middle of the training, either...

Yoda's strength does not lie in raw, muscular power. He is superior because of his strength in the force, his clear mind, and his lightning fast capabilitites.
