Seismic Charge firepower

Hello, all,

I had a discussion with an individual about how powerful the seismic charges seen breaking up asteroids in Attack of the Clones are now, given that the Incredible Cross Sections material is no longer deemed canon by Disney. In regard to the 12 gigaton yield listed in the ICS, do we know exactly what method Curtis Saxton employed to come to the conclusion that seismic charges are indeed so powerful as the Incredible Cross Sections claim?

My line of reasoning is, that despite the ICS books not being regarded as canon any more, the figures derived by Saxton are grounded on what was seen in the film, and as such the seismic charges' firepower is still valid in establishing a level of Star Wars firepower.

If possible, I would like to use any evidence verifying the yield of these mines in discussions with Trek fans and so forth, but I have found thus far that reference to Curtis Saxton's standing in association with the original figures immediately closes the minds of anti-Wars debaters since they believe steadfastly that Saxton's mission was from the start to thrust up Star Wars over other sci-fi. :banghead:
