Out of the two portrayals of the Clone Wars, which do you prefer?

Clone Wars includes all material released during the 2002-2005 multimedia project such as the micro series, the comics, and novels.

TCW includes the 2008-2014 children's cartoon and all related spin off material.

TCW, it's only flaw is the animation style

The stories were rather good well written and paced. A 5 (and a half) year series coverig a ~3 year war, and it never got stale. Curse Disney for killing it, if the 'Lost Missions' were anything to go by, seasons 6 & 7 would've been epic.

Personally I would go with neither. While each had their strengths and weaknesses relative to each other, they both had the same fundamental problem.

The flaw of any EU that surrounds the prequels is that the stories are fundamentally a tragedy. While this is also a flaw of the prequels overall, the films alone still work within this context as tragedies. Investing in countless novels/comic books or six seasons of Clone Wars is taking things too far, ultimately serving as a giant Shaggy Dog Story. Something like A Bridge Too Far worked well as something of a tragedy within WW2. Had we seen countless hours building up the heroism of the British Paras before they were slaughtered at Arnhem, would it have been better or worse?
