I'm gonna try and guesstimate how many ships of various types there are in the Imperial navy, I'm gonna assume they have a low-end of 10 million ships, but what to fill all this with in addition to 25k Imperator class SD's?

OK, so I've gotten this so far: EDIT:
Added numbers for the Eclipse and Sovereign classes

Only two eclipse if I remeber correctly.

Aren't the Majestic, Defender, Sacheen, Warrior, and Agave New Republic designs?

Like God Emperor said, there were only 2 Eclipse class ships. As for the Sovereigns, I believe 4 were in construction but were all destroyed before completion.

Very very large numbers of them, because IIRC, they were the old
Republic's frontline combat warships until the new Victories and
later Imperials replaced them in frontline service..

I believe the Empire continued to build modern dreadnought designs for quite some time as well.

Also according to Curtis Saxton the Eclipse is 17.5 km not 16 km.

I seem to recall reading the no. of Executor-class ships constructed, somewhere. IIRC, it was more than 4, less than 20 (?!). I'll go hunting in a bit and see if I can find it...don't hold me to that

Here's a good listing from Curtis Saxton's site. It's not quite up to date with the NJO ships but a good one for your purposes.

The prototype Eclipse I was 17.5 km. The extra 1.5 km was added in to represent the ship's special customization and sporadic construction over the years. The Eclipse II was an even 16 km.

I thought 25,000 was the number of Star Destroyers in the fleet, that is Imperial, Victory and Executor class Star Destroyers.

I believe Saxton simply misses the Whelm, and the Defiant.

No, it was strictly ISDs.

Are we talking the total built throughout SW history, the highest number acheived, or at the NJO numbers?

Imperial Navy at it's height I was thinking, so we got like 10-22 million slots to fill.

There are many many classes listed on Saxton's site but I only used the ones that had actual designations.

The vast majority of those are gonna be the "boring" ships like system patrol boats, support ships, medical ships, and the like.

I would have believed the 190m gunships and ships up dreadnaughts would have filled the majority of millitary ships.

The ratio for support ships are like this, based on a sector group:
"At least 2,400 ships (of which, 1,600 are combat starships, including 24 Star Destroyers)."

So thats 776 support ships per 1624 combat starships.
Thats roughly 32% of the total fleet strenght, so out of 22 million ships, 7,040,000 of them should be support ships.

That is, if the ratios are constant.

I take it you'll be doing fighters afterwards? Those 25,000 Star Destroyers alone each carrying 72 TIEs of various types means 1.8 million.

Executor Class Star Destroyers would be Six IIRC. Executor, Lusankya, Guardian, and the three SSDs in the Black Fleet.

Only Two Eclipse SSDs were ever built. And I'm not sure those would apply to this fleet count since they were built after Endor behind the Imperial Hypespace Net unless Im mistaken.

Two Eclipse were built.

Four Sovereigns were started to built but none of them were completely finished.

We only know four positive identification of Allegiance class vessels. Probably many more were built and were destroyed along with Byss.

Only one positive identification of the Star Hauler. I rather think it was a prototype and mass construction of it never started.

As for the SSD's...Are we talking about only the pre-Endor era or the whole history of the Imperial Navy?

Several of those listed are late era NR ships as pointed out.

We know of at least 14 Executor-class. I don't know anything about the Whelm, care to enlighten me?

Given the ratio of ISDs vs VSDs in Daala's fleet, scrapped together from several different warlords, it should be safe to assume that it is a good indicator of the general ratio in the Imperial fleet, which gives 1:2. That would make 50,000 Victory-class.

I reclassified the Shockwave to be a battlecruiser, I felt this was more appropriate.

Or are there disagreements? Is the Shockwave a cruiser or battlecruiser?

The Shockwave BTW was able to obliterate a Victory-Class Destroyer in a single volley.
