What is the range of the Death Star's Tractor beam? B/c in ANH we see that the Death Star caught the Millenium Falcon in what seems to be thousands of kilometers.

Does anyone have a defining range for them?

I must be atleast thousands, possibly a megameter away or more, it ways far off, but then given the Tractor's Beam quick oull shows War's speed are quite fast. And http://wwww.theforce.net/swtc/ is the best Canon Database, and http://www.unjoh.com/ is the best NJO Database.

Tractor beams appear to have a much longer range against targets that are moving in a single direction than against maneuvering targets. Thus, the limiting factor on tractor beams is its ability to target something, rather than its ability to physically hold onto a target.
