GL's words on the Jedi

Somewhere, at sometime, someplace GL made a comment (I think it may have been on the TPM DVD) that the Jedi use the Force to limit each others capabilities during battle. Does anyone have an exact quote of what he said, or where I can find it? Any help would be appreciated.

Why in the name of god would they want to hinder each other?

So they can't fight as well they normally would, giving one of the Jedi the advantage.
But save the discussion for later. Does anyone know where I can find what he said?

Ah i misunderstood, i thought you said they could and did hinder other Jedi on the same side, my bad. This power would be kinda like the opposite of the Force-Coordination power Palpy was said to exert over the Imperial Fleet.

I don't know about GL saying anything about this, but in the AoTC novelization this is mentioned, so the idea may have come from GL.

George Lucas.. sigh.. TPM CAN KISS MY ASS. Midichlorians? Did George Lucas just take a biology class when he thought that one up?

They're probably a bit like Mitochondria. They really don't bother me that much (that said, they would have been better dealt with in the official novelization, rather than wasting film time with them).

It's actually a canonical statement in the AotC novelization. Dooku and Obi-Wan use the Force to stop each other from using the Force to its full abilities.

IIRC, Anakin also "boxes in" Dooku with the Force, literally limiting his movement.

Well, Midichlorians don't bother me too much. It's the explanation for Anakin's conception that I found annoying. Bearable, but annoying.

Anyone else occasionally feel that it wasn't until after he made Star Wars, GL started comparing it to with a bunch of mythology and then went overboard and heavy-handed with TPM and AOTC?

he planned it to be classic mythology in the original movies - elderly advisor, rogue turning good, princess to rescue, the whole lot.
but he did go overboard in tpm.

It makes sense, especially if you're the stronger force user.

Which would explain why the Jedi don't appear to be that great in the movies... since most of what they're doing isn't visible to the audience, anyway.

Could you find a quote of this?

Anyone else not care?

So what stopped Obi-Wan from seriously screwing over Jango at Kamino. He shouldn't have needed his lightsabre-instead I got the feeling he was naked without it. He could barely get the upper hand, and Jango still got away to his ship.
There are likely other examples. Although, if true, then how cool could Yoda be!!??

Actually, that birth was the shining moment of SW mythology for me.
Just as in the fall of Boromir recalls the hero tragedy, the enshrinement of the Emperor Dune and the Return of the King of Gondor reflects King Arthur, the birth of Anakin through mythical concepts illustrates the idea of salvation.
