This will start things off. The explanation of the gun turret chairs.

Star Wars The Han Solo Adventures Han Solo's Revenge Paperback p345

Han climbed toward the top turret and felt the vibrations along the ladder that told him his copilot was descending. He hauled himself into the turret, seating himself before the quad-guns and donning his headset.
Ship's gravity was altered here, permitting him to sit with his back perpendicular to the ladderwell without feeling a downward drag. In the same way, Chewbacca would be sitting in the belly turret facing directly "downward" without being pulled against his seat's belt.

Now, I had never seen anything about this. Although I have not combed through Saxton's site or the Millenium Falcon page. So, here it is, in all of it's official glory. Also, for anyone asking, so far, Han Solo At Stars' End, and Han Solo's Revenge (still reading) is awesome!!!

That doesn't explain how the top and bottom turrets turn independent of eachother...

Actually, this is also mentioned in Dark Force Rising, when Luke, Mara and Karrde escape from the Chimera, Karrde suggests that he may hand the Dark Force over to the NR. The text says that in his shock, Luke doesn't even notice when the gravity changes as he climbs down from the quad-gun.

:?:

Why wouldn't they be? Nothing astonishing about it, just think mid-upper and belly turret on a B-17 for an example. :)

2 great Han Solo stories, and the 3rd is pretty good too (Han Solo and the Lost Legacy) :D

IIRC, in one of the more recent NJO books, it mentions this whole gravity thing as well. I think Saba Sebatyne was donning one of the turrets or something.

Exactly. This is just a far more earlier example, and a DIRECT mention of how that works. Which, as has been noted, is stated in a few books. Needless to say, this is far easier to grasp, because *gasp* we've seen them clambor around inside the Falcon.
