Sorry if this has been posted before, but I was poking around the WotC Star Wars page, and happend upon their artwork galleries. They are incredible. Some great artwork of just about anything in the SW Universe i there.

I have provided a link to a gallery of some Vong stuff, but, the rest is included in a link to the left under 'Art Galleries'.

I really like the rough-looking watercolour-ish pictures (l-r,d: 1, 4, 6, 9, and 12).

Say what you wnat about the game, they crank out some nice art. I love their pics of the Nebula class SD and the Darktrooper, and the standalone vong warrior in the gallery you posted.

Is it just me or is the Noghri in that one picture...rather...large, for a Noghri?

Perspective could be skewed by action, the Noghri might be jumping at him and grabbing his neck.

Fine, I hate it when a Trading Card Game Company buys out a RPG franchise just as I have gotten into playing that game, and I am enjoying it because of the D6 system. Then I hate it even more when they change the system to a fucking D20 system, and change all the old cannon.

That's how I feel!

P.S. just so you know, I used to play Magic: the Gathering and got pretty good at it too. i will admit when WoTC had a good game, but that doesn't stop me from hating them when they pull something like this!

Err it was my understanding that WOTC was an RPG company not a Trading Card Game company. Where did DnD come from? Or was TSR actually bought out? Not mutated into WOTC?

THIS is why I hate the fucking NJO.

And THIS never should have happened.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked to find out that, for all events and purposeds, Coruscant has been destroyed.

Does anyone here miss the old Decipher game?

Because Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology doesn't make sense?

TSR was bought out. This is, by a few accounts, a good thing, because TSR was bankrupt at the time.

Bingo. If I wanted to see giant space monsters attacking space stations, I'd watch 50s and 60s B-movie scifi. But guess what - I want Star Wars.

And it's not enough for them to include crazy biotechnology...it has to be bigger and better than normal SW tech...and it's not enough for it to just be bigger and better...it has to FUCKING DESTROY CORUSCANT. The notion that the NR could be that unprepared is hard to swallow. I move that the NJO be stricken from the record.

No matter how hard the game itself sucks, it's a fact that they've gathered together some genuinely talented artists.

The Dark Side Sourcebook had a few absolutely breathtaking images as well. I don't much like the cartoonish standard fare, but the fewer watercolors are just stunning.

Coruscant was DESTROYED? The planet is GONE Alderaan-style? Or is it just wrecked?

Eh, it isn't destroyed, per se. Just changed around a bit.

Heh, you call this "changed around a bit"?
The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia wrote:Borsk Fey'lya was forced to cede control of Coruscant to the Yuuzhan Vong, and the New Republic fled the system in disarray. When the Republic's forces were finally defeated, the city lights of Coruscant went out for the first time in many millennia. The Yuuzhan Vong then destroyed much of the planet's surface, using dovin basals to drag skyhooks and orbital satellites down and crashing them into the planet. This served two purposes: it eliminated much of the orbital technology, and it caused a widespread psychological fear into the planet's survivors. Within weeks, much of Coruscant was overgrown with fungus and algae. Those New Republic citizens who survived the initial attacks were faced several bleak alternatives: dying of starvation, as much of the food production system was destroyed; dying of thirst, since no open water sources were to be found; being killed over a cache of food or water; or dying at the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong. Within months, a large portion of the population was dead or dying, and massive Vongforming efforts were under way. The planet's largest moon was destroyed so that it's debris could assist in the reformation of the planet's surface. Immense dovin basals were used to drag Coruscant into a tighter orbit around its star, creating a more tropical atmopshere. Other dovin basals moved the remaining three moons into a new, complex orbit. Vast amounts of material, displaced during the destruction of the cities, was thrown into nearspace and allowed to form a ring, assisted by the tidal pull of the three moons. This ring of debris resembled a braided rainbow when seen from the surface, and was known to the Yuuzhan Vong as The Bridge. A dhuryam World Brain was installed deep in the planet's crust, and speciallized mosses and lichens were used to break down duracrete and other building materials. The Yuuzhan Vong had remade Courscant in the image of their long-lost homeworld, Yuuzhan'tar.

Going by "destroyed" meaning an Alderaan style PK event, "changed around a bit" is the best was to describe it.

Thusly expressing most peoples' reaction to NJO as a whole.
