After months of work, Admiral Daala is able to acquire 4 junked ISD II's from Imperial Warlords and restore them to better than new condition. She intends to establish a new base, and see what she can carve out of the universe for herself. Mid-contstuction of her new base 1 MC80a and 4 Dreadnaughts exit hyperspace at point blank range while Dalaa's task force its escorting new building materials though extremely dangerous territory. The new base is completely oblitereated. Unable to get the identification on the attacking ships she turns to the black market to find rebel scum responsible for the atrocity. To her surprise, she discovers that the base was attacked by the warlord that she got her ISD's from -- under the command of a man who claims to be Grand Admiral Thrawn himself (a clone actually). Infuriated for almost being manipulated into being a diversion for someone else she plots her revenge. When she learns of Warlord Thrawn's plan to attack Mon Calamari (a mission where she failed earlier) she discovers that her hated enemy Admiral Ackbar is still in command. She has no love for what's become of the known worlds... rise of the New Republic... the Empire had betrayed her twice...
What happens??

Daala goes to fight "Thrawn" and probably wins, but loses one of her ISD-IIs in the fight.
Next up,
The New Republic has more exprience with renegade groups now (Yevetha, Shadow Academy, Invids, etc) and has better capships and fighters than they did years ago.
Daala gets bitchslapped, hard.

You don't think it would be possible for Dalaa to temporarily team up with Ackbar since everythin she was fighting for more or less no longer exists?

Hell no. Daala's way to shortsighted for something like that. Her plan is aways to hit her opponent as soon as possible, no matter what the consequences might be. Her strategic planning is pathetic and her plans to hit the New Republic were nothing short of horrendous.

Agreed, Dalaa has shown that she is not a long term thinker and is reactionary. When she is wronged, she strikes out at what wronged her. The only plus side here is that she actually found out who the correct person was that wronged her.
She will go out and strike at Warlord Thrawn. She does seem to have a nack for tactics, so her strikes will be of some what value and successfull. But in the end she will again fail due that she can not seem to string together a successful string of strategies in a coherent fashion.

She teamed up with Pelleon more because he offered her his support than anything else.
And that book is Planet of Twilight. Do. Not. Touch. It.

It is absolutely horribly written and has no plot. I would say the plot sucks, but this book really has NO plot to speak of. It's really nothing more that kindling.
