Do you enjoy NJO? I have found it to be largely a love/hate deal. You either love it, or you hate it, and I have yet to see much of a middle ground.

Yeah, I like it alot. There are some truly mediocre books, some OK ones, and some outstanding ones, but overall I've really liked the series.

Agreed. It has a couple so-so books, but, overall, it is a great series, as it brings something new into the SW universe.

I've only read the Stackpole and Allston books. Rather enjoyed them to.

Look, this is a series that has both Star By Star and Dark Journey. I think it's safe to say that this series swings back and forth between 'pretty damn good' and 'pretty fucking awful'.

I'm sick and tired of post-OT EU. Kill it now, please.

I haven't read any of the books, but from what I've read about what occurs in the series, it just keeps getting more and more depressing and unrecoverable.

I like it. Nothing up to Star By Star is worth reading. But most of the rest is quite good.

Star By Star 10/10, Traitor 9/10, Enemy Lines duology 9/10, Destiny's Way 8/10, Remnant 9/10. There are many excellent books in NJO, but there are some extremely awfull books too.

Things have been looking up since the Allston duology.

Will do. It doesn't look there will be much left to do in the post-OT EU after the NJO finishes, which is perhaps why the emphasis seems to be shifting more to pre-OT EU novels.

SPOILERS:
Stupid EU minimalist authors. In Destiny's Way, 8 ships destroyed was concidered a huge loss. In Remnant, there were less than 10 ISDs defending Bastion.

Despite minimalism (always present in the EU, always will be), many of the series are quite excellent. Although us SW Tech nerds would love to see million ship fleets pounding on each other, if the story is written well eight ships is fine with me. More specifically, read nothing up to Star by Star, then skip Dark Journey, then read everything after that.

It was ok. After Star By Star minhus Dark Journey was good. But really what was the point of having another alien kick some ass then get ass kicked even harder?

I lost interest because of what happened to a certain character in Star By Star. Too bad, I was really enjoying the series up till then.

How on Earth could you
enjoythe pre-SBS NJO? It was utter crap; each and every book worse than the last (okay maybe not, but it was still bad). Even though we lost a very well-developed character in SBS, I think it is the best NJO book out there. Excluding Dark Journey, the ones following SBS are too.

The duology that had centerpoint (the name escapes me atm) was kinda lame, and I didnt really like Balance Point either, but everything else was cool. Also, I didnt say I hated SBS, on the contrary I liked it quite a lot, but the death of a certain character in SBS turned me off to the series and I don't care to read further into it now. I've already made up my mind I'm through unless that character is brought back.

I buy around ten good, five okay, and four bad SW EU books... only to find a few years later that everything I enjoyed about them is completely forgotten, and everything I loved about the books gone. Whoever thought of the NJO plot is a serious dumbass.

You should avoid a few books in the series like the plague (Dark Journey, cough cough), but for the most part I think that they're pretty strong books, with SbS being by far the strongest.

WARNING SPOILERS
I've not read any of them, but from the uber-organic shit to the warping of Coruscant (if you can even call it that anymore
), to the annihilation of Ithor, to the death of main characters I loved (some of them are in the goddamned OT for crying out loud), to the supposed shit action, to the lame-ass books, I hate it as it destroys everything I like about Star Wars. The Vong are basically anti-Star Wars shit. The Vong are everything I
don’t want in Star Wars.
When I thought about Star Wars before the NJO, I thought of this:

Now, due to the NJO, when I think of Star Wars, I'm
forced to think of this:

Y'know, dispite my not liking the event happening, that picture of the scouring of Courscant is pretty damn cool.

Destiny's Way also had a massive fleet action with thousands of ships.

I quit reading after the first book in NJO, whatever it was. Death of a certain well-loved character was not only blatantly avoidable in the plot, but wholly depressing. If I ever go back to the EU, it'll be to reread the original Zahn trilogy.
Feh.

Why are people going on about uber organic tech, I have not seen that, I've seen that their feeble organic tech is inferior.
