Imperial Sector Fleets

Post by AL »

Does anyone, anyone think or imagine, by the time of ROTJ, that each and every Imperial Sector Fleet contained an Executor class command ship?

No. That might have been the eventual goal of the Empire's building program, but it does not appear to have reached fruition. There were not that many Executor class ships at that time to give one to every sector fleet. Only very important people or fleets were given command of an SSD.

I'm just wondering, I have a feeling a hunch whatever you want to call it that we will see the Executor class in EPIII. If we do then I'm wondering if there indeed more than what we are lead to believe. Guess i will have to wait and see.

I would be led to believe that ESB was right after the time SSDs came into service. Just for the fact, that in ANH, had there been one, it would have been orbiting Tatooine.

By all indications Kuat was supposed to start pumping them out, Iron Fist and the Three SSD in the Black Fleet where built at roughly the same time but either they ran out of ship building resources or somthing because a few months later they were only working on the Razor's Kiss

Well the ECS would most likely have been command ships for the sector fleet of the most important core worlds, also flagships for large expedition forces.
Probably, if the Alliance hadn't won, Imperial space would now be crowded with them.

Dont forget that SSD's are horrendusly expensive and material drains.
Probably the Navy cancelled those orders and re-ordered them as ISD's.

:? An Empire which builds Death Stars within months? ECS too expensive?
I don't think so.

Good point. KDY may have stoped building them after the Emperor died and the empire started to shatter. They were probably worried that no one would pay the bill.

IIRC there were 4 SSD's at the time of RoTJ (can't remeber the source. Might be the BTM CD) These would be the Executer, Lusyanka, Iron Fist and some other one, maybe the Black Fleet's.

And just who or what was the Lusyanka named after?
