They only had 30 ships, tops at Endor.

The rebels have no sectors. Hence, no sector fleets.

However, The last book of the BFC does describe a typical task force.

anyone on the composition?

I'm guessing on this one but before the Liberty is destroyed by the Death Star in ROTJ, we see she is escorted by two medium transports and one corvette and one escort frigate. I'm wondering if this is true for each cal cruiser at the battle of Endor.

The Rebels have no sector fleets. The largest forces they have are planetary fleets, and then they switched over to becoming the New Republic. The NR sector fleets are comparable in most ways to Imperial fleets, except that they carry proportionately more picket ships and starfighters instead of main line cruisers and heavy warships.

Quote from the novel "Tyrant's Test"

"The typical composition of a twenty-one vessel task force included a Star Destroyer or fleet carrier as flagship, two heavy cruisers and two assault carriers, four escort frigates, and five gunships -- a fast, flexible, and formidable aggregation of firepower. "

this is a task force though not a sector fleet...

In the New Jedi Order books they mention sector fleets.

I think they mention the 3rd , 5th & 6th sector fleets.

I belive that the sector fleets are assigned to patrol large sectors

Keep in mind the NR is much less Militriesd than the Empire so don't be suprised when you find out how big a *sector fleet is
