A military Blunder by the New Republic

Does this make sense? You have a company that makes ISD'S and SSD's ok, you win against the empire. Why not:

A. Contract to have designs of these ships built, to build up your weak pathetic Navy.

B. Use these warships to combat your enemy who has these superior warships.

in all reality even though the Empire is divided after the Battle of Endor, depending on which EU writer is writing the story ( a bad story of the month ), how could a small fleet of say maybe 30-50 assorted inferior Rebel ships defeat say even one just one Imperial Sector Fleet when these ships will sustain damage and have to be taken out of combat to be repaired and what would stop another imperail sector group from smashing the depleted Rebel ships?

Keep in mind the Imperial Sector Fleet would not have orders to keep them from escaping so your leader could show everyone the Death Star is indeed operational, but a determined enemy ready to fight and die if necessay to destroy you.

Anyone agree with this reasoning or am I just crazy?

Any other idead theories guesses anything at all.

Simple they turned on each other, its estimated in the weeks after The Emperors death and Sate Presitges brief rise to power the Empire lost 5% to 30% of its Navy due to Infighting

I was thinking it may be even higher than that. Power can drive those seeking it mad.

Maybe 50% or more or do you think thats to high?

Notice I say in the week after

Remeber State lost power and there was a second Power struggle for a month till Issard came to power and ended the Infighting

Well, it's phsyically impossible for that, you could only fight so many enemies off..

perhaps your right. Maybe that is to high.

one other thing if I may then i'll just shut up about this. How fast did the Rebels or NR build up there fleet. Surely factions of the empire would cause them heavy losses and destroy their small navy. This taking place just after the battle of Endor.

They only had 2,500 Capital Ships that could rival an ISD at the time of the Black Fleet Crisis, but how they got them I don't know. The Rebels relied on Imperial fragmentation for victory, when the Empire was united with Thtawn and the Clone Palpatine they took huge kicks in the nuts...

I would think it would take them any where from five to te years to build a fleet that could even compare to the Imperial might. With the Imperials runing around it would take much longer. Good point with the Imperials striking back after Endor They probably should have been destroyed unless the Rebels scatterd there forces after the battle

The Empire had aleast 25,000 Imperators, a quite modset estimate, anyway the Empire did counterstrike the Rebels by using Captain Dor Reder's Information. So at that mdest estimate above they only had 10% of the Imperial Forces, quite sad..

Which company is this?

As far as I know only 3 places could make SSD's
-KDY @ Kuat
-Fondor
-The place where the Black Fleet was made

Kuat was still in Imp hands at the time of X-Wing:Iron Fist some 2-3 years after RoTJ
I'm not sure about Fondor, but the NR was keeping the base on Fondor's moon a secret during the Zsinj period and in X-Wing:Isaards revenge it seemed that Fondor was neutral. This indicates that Fondor left the Emire and then either remained neutral or joined the NR then left.
The Place where the Black Fleet was made was in Imp hands until the Aliens there took over it, so it wasn't in NR hands until after the Black Fleet Crisis.

Out of these the only possible place to build an SSD for the NR would be Fondor and even then there's a strong possibility that they couldn't.

Also IIRC Mon Cal cruisers are almost as strong as ISDs so why would you need to build slightly stronger ships that were used as images of fear by the order that you just defeated?

Yeah, but the New Republic lacked a sufficent number of capital ships.

This still doen't tell us which company the NR controlled that could build SSD's

Wouldn't a number of Imperial commanders cede to the New Republic after Palpatine's demise? Desent in the ranks is nothing new. Most of the Imperial leaders post-DSII would have to be somewhat sage due to their rank and realize the benefits of New Republic status.

Your probably thinking of Binring Biomedical on Saffalore. Where 'Piggy' was created. It's mentioned in Iron Fist.

Bilbringi were the most extensive, the Offical Imperial Shipyards, they could defintely build an SSD. The place deep in the Core that built the ESSD could build a few SSDs, but not the New Republic wanted to build Executor Class Commandship anyway, damn reatrded ass Pambys.
