In ANH in the briefing scene (The Senate has been disolved, yadda yadda yadda) we see a person in a white uniform, which is as near as I can tell, exactly the same as what the GAs wear.
I sthis person a GA? What is his name?

Well I've been searching for a while, and I can't find any answers, not even from the Twits at TFN boards. I was hoping the people here could tell me.

Ask the Jedi Council at Star Wars.com ... Jocasta Nu would be a good bet ...

he's on one of the cards in the CCG. I think his name has Wolf in it somewhere.

This guy?
Saxton calls him an "Imperial Security bureau officer"
I belive it's a cream couloured uniform, two more, lower ranking ones walk past a turbolift.

That is really not the most flattering picture of an imperial naval officer i've ever seen. But then again, I think he was supposed to be equivalent to the nameless ensigns who get killed off before the movie gets serious.

He is colonel Wolf Yularen, according to the CCG. He is an ISB officer who was dispatched to the DS (presumably as a political officer, or something of the sort).

Thats a shame, would have been interesting to see a GA.

Yes indeed. He is Colonel Wulf Yularen as is stated in Deciphers SWCCG

Seems like a pretty small rank badge for a Grand Admiral. I'd expect he is some representative of something like Imperial intelligence, the sort of branch which might send someone in the commander range to a meeting of the top brass.

A Colonel is very high ranking. It is the rank below General, in most militaries. It is common to see such people at meetings involving primarily Generals and Admirals, especially if they don't say a lot. Note that he never had a speaking line. He was probably there either as a political officer, or as an aide to somebody else who was there.

Perhaps we'll see Grand Admiral Thrawn in Episode III...

I doubt it. Not only is he an EU creation (which GL usually does not put in his movies), but he is also supposed to be in the Unknown Regions that whole time, doing things like intercepting Outbound Flight.

Well, we might. Outbound Flight was pre Clone Wars. So by the time the Clone Wars ended, Thrawn might have been exiled. Of course, that means we'll need a VSD to pick him up.

If I were a Grand Admiral, I'd wear a tutu. How embarassing would it be to have your ass whipped by a guy in a ballerina outfit?

The thought is just sick, but it would be pretty funny

Maybe not, because sofar, he's put alot of the EU creations in the prequels, I believe if we actually started counting them, we would have shitloads of them.
Wich reminds me, I should make a thread about just that.
Still I can remember these things:
1. Coruscant
2. Quarren species(never mentioned nor seen in the OT, but mentioned in the EU)
3. Jabba being alive at that time(no age specified in the OT, but mentioned in the EU)
4. The Hutts and their crime organization is taken from the EU
5. The Sith theme of "One master, one apprentice" is shown
6. The way Palpatine went about destroying the Old Republic is also shown in the manner depicted in the EU

The only EU character he has added was the Twi'lek, Aalya Secura, who was added to Episode II at the last minute. No other EU characters have ever made the transition from books/comics to the big screen.

Given Thrawns status and fanbase, I hope he's added.

so the guy in white is a ISO officer(or ISB) that means he is propaply the highest ranking person in his field on the Death Star and is to be expected oto be part of the meeting. this also makes him a staff officer nt a line officer and not in the chain of command. But he can lock even Tarkin in his quarters if he see fit cause he is basically the gestapo chief of the Death Star. at least if the Empire is run like nazi germany

We saw Quarren in both ANH and ROTJ.
