Carrying on from the Revenge of the jedi (Your Version) Thread, what would you change in the existing films to make them better. How would you rewrite the novels to make them feel more like the movies. Try keeping the same sort of plot and eventual outcome, if possible

Have Carrie Fisher and Harrison FOrd coem in to approve Lucas's dialogue regarding the Anakin and Padame love scenes.

Abolish KJA. Especially Darksaber.

Redo the art in Dark Empire (I really didn't care for it, especially the coloring)

Don't let KJA anywhere near the series, and if he does get to it don't let him do any of his continuity fucking crap like he did to Jedi Vs Sith after the final issue had already gone to print

More or less ditch the Corellian trilogy, the books with Callista, and assorted other crap.

Have them know what will happen in the prequels explicetly before they write so there aren't these fuckups.

Reset Jedi vs Sith to 2000 years prior, have the 1000 thing be an accidental encounter where they kill an apprentice and a random darksider instead of both sith.

Ditch the WEG brainbugs

In general terms, that's about it.

Change the appearance of the Kaminoans by adding some muscle mass (they're ludicrously frail, even compared to other "Grey"-type aliens - and by the way, how the heck can a vertebrate organism function without musculature?) - and making Lama Su's mohawk bigger.

And finally, I'd remove all mention of midichlorians. And don't get me started on Jar-Jar Binks. I could rant on for years about what's wrong with him.

I'd also make some of the aliens sound exactly like Groundskeeper Willie.

Add a few yield statements in the movies. And a few ship counts.

I'd also keep the Yuuzhan Vong in the NJO, but substitute all their strange biotech for something that makes sense.

Frankly, I'd completely gut Episode One. Hayden Christiansen would be anakin from the first, and he would be simply a moody, snotty kid who knew nothing of the power he posessed until Qui-Gon comes along. No touching scenes of a cute little boy helping random strangers. No gut-wrenching scenes of mommy saying, "oh he's so special" and sending him off with the random strangers on his own. No anti-climatic fighter sequence where cute little boy succeeds despite the blatant stupidity of that entire plot angle. Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans would be completely eradicated. Jake Lloyd can suck the business end of a lightsaber down as far as I'm concerned. I'd only have about fourty minutes of film to work with after I axed all of the shit, but hey it would still be better than that steaming cesspool of filth that Lucas came up with.

Well I would have ditched the little scorch mark effects of blaster shots and made it much more violent, with droids being blown apart and walls exploding and vaporizing, much like it was when Solo escaped from Tatooine.
Just looked so much more impressive.

In ANH, I would have Han shoot first, and perhaps a more epic battle of Yavin.

For TPM, I would introduce Jar-Jar, have him killed by being sucked into a podracer engine, make the whole film less cutesy, change the midichlorian stuff, and have the Trade Federation ship destroyed in some other way.

In AotC, I would make the romantic dialouge more convincing, have a bigger Battle of Geonosis, re-introduce Jar-Jar so he could be brutally murdered again, and cut out the slower romantic stuff, replacing it with one giant love scene with Padme, Anakin, and the handmaidens.

More space battles and less land battles.

Get Speilberg to direct the new trilogy.

Get Matt Damion for Anakin in ATOC. Needed more Oscar people.

More Jedi battles and try to increase connections to the books.

No R2D2 and C3PO in episodes one and two (and 99% likely Episode 3). I am getting pretty tired of those damn droids. I also agree with about 90% of the other changes people want to make.

Complete deletion of current EU and a restart so it will actually make sense when linked in with the prequels, and to get rid of the other things that piss me off greatly in it.

The films I'd leave mostly alone. Cut down Jar-Jar in TPM, and tweak the fireplace scene a bit so the dialogue doesn't grate as much. The rest is fine by me.

I have a total rewrite of TPM somewhere. I basically made it darker, replaced Jar Jar with a more normal person simply caught up in things along with a few other changes. As for the Vong, I'd change some of their technology but leave their culture the same.

TPM is gone. No Jake Lloyd's Anakin, no Jar-Jar, no Gungans. The final battle would probably have a Republic capship appearing and owning that piss-poor excuse for a "battleship" the TradeFed's use. Less stupid Neimodians.

AOTC is pretty good. Unless you listen to the dialogue. Lets get a good director for this one. And change Geonosis to a space battle. And throw in some ridiculously high numbers for us Vs. Warsies too.

EU: Go back and time and kill Anderson's parents before they give birth to him. Erase all the garbage that was Planet of Twilight, and the Correlian Trilogy. Get somebody in there that isn't a minimalist (ever EU writer has been so far), and then let Zahn have a couple more books. And Allston, he's good too. Burn Stackpole, of course.

Exactly my words. I like the Yuuzhan Vong very much, but I just find their biotechnology to be completely inane.

I think it's his habit of making ISDs seem weaker than they should be.

So if Mike Stackole didn't make ISD's weak would people like him?

Also i'd give people like Stravo and Chuck Sonnenburg a "trial" to see if they can write professinally.
