Wasn't the opportunity to direct ROTJ originally offered to David Lynch, but turned down by him?

Probably. The plot made too much sense.

Who did the original ROTJ? He was good. (The Ewoks were George's fault)

I don't have a problem with GL's directing. But he either needs to find a competent writer for EpIII or take a class or something.
Funny though. My choice for director would be Peter Jackson.

Steven Spielberg. He can make rerally good war stories and can turn a peice of crap (AI) into a blockbuster.
AI sucked balls.

Oh dear lord, that would be full of conspiracy theories and the guy on grassy knoll would get to kill Vader.

I want to see Francis Ford Coppola remaking them. Or Oliver Stone.

Didn't Francis Ford Coppola once attempt to make a sci-fi movie - resulting in the somewhat mediocre
Supernova??

Quentin Tarantino, any one? John Travolta? Just kidding...
If I wanted to do it seriously I wouldn't be going for any big names. Try to bring in some people who appreciate the source material and who show alot of talent for directing. Definitely would go for young up and comers.....

Actually, George Lucas got the ideas for the plot from Kurosawa. (I think all he did was to take "The Hidden Fortress" and make a sci-fi version of it)

I know. I'm wondering what Kurosawa would have done with a sci-fi version of a movie he had already done.

Now, what would the prequels be like if directed by Ed Wood, Kevin Lindenmuth, Fred Olen Ray,Roger Corman or another B-movie director??
