Help with calculations.

I wanted to know some information, if it exsists.

1: About how many shots can a ISD fire off before it needs a resupply,

2: How many sections are Planetary shields devided into?

3: How often, or at what rate can a planetary shield recharge while under bombardment?

I'm trying to figure out the defensive power of a planetary shield, IIRC a ISD can BDZ a planet in 3 hours, but not all that would be fire, just as an estimate lets say an ISD can fire for an hour straight before depleting it's supplies, thats 3600 or 1800 shots from each cannon, excluding LTLs and IIRC the 10 terraton lower limit for HTLs, thats .2terratons x 50 canon x 1800 shots + 8 HTLs x 10 TT x 1800 shots = 162,000 TT x the 4 ISD(IIRC) at Hoth, 648000 TT not counting the SSD, thats the bare lower limit of a section planetary shielding.

Obviously that figure is too low, the empire would beable to but a larger assualt on a section, and be able to keep that assult up for days(probly longer but not at that intensity) with rotating ISDs if they really wanted a planetary shielding down, and it would be more cost efficiate than a DS.

Just something I'm doing to kill the time.

SW shields work on multiple factors.

There's no "put this much energy in and it will fall" number.

It works on thresholds and generally fails in a mechanical number.

And 1 ISD can BDZ in at most, 1 hour.

It can go 6 years before it needs to resupply, so a fucking lot of them.

Depends on the shielding system. Coruscant had an assload because it was so subdivided. In theory you'd just need one for each hemisphere if you put enough power in, though smaler versions like Hoth's only cover 50 km

We have no idea. At a faster rate then that 5 ISDs and an SSD can dish out obviously, which would be ~ 6.5E24 watts going by my numbers. This is a bare bones low end of course, as I go by lower numbers from my interpretation of the ICS and because that was a limited shield and it is a lower limit work.

Alot of your assumptions were faulty, so your work is off.

There would be no need to rotate ISDs. Besides, this is what a Torpedo sphere is for

It seems unnecessary to me to equip ISDs with such a massive amount of supplies. I mean really, when any base you could want to go is at most a week away, why are such volumes of supplies necessary?

I'd think a month or two would be more than enough.

All I know is that 6 years is the stated consumables limit
