SW.com has recently released an image of the cover of the upcoming novel The Unifying Force.

Of particular interest to me are the two male figures featured prominently in the film just to the right of center on the cover.

I assume that one of them is the likeness of Jacen Solo, but if this were true then the other one would almost have to be Anakin Solo. Does this mean that Anakin will be resurrected? Possibly. Another potential explanation has to do with the book's title, implying that Anakin is able to revisit someone in the galaxy through the Force ("There is no death; there is the Force.).

It's POSSIBLE that the rear-most figure on the cover is supposed to be Luke Skywalker, but it seems highly inconsistent with other portrayals of Luke throughout the NJO. In particular, he is far too youthful in this shot, his haircolor is inconsistent, and the hairstyle itself is different. These would all be easily explained by the figure's identity as Anakin Solo, and my original interpretation has the additional support of the parallelism between Jacen and Anakin (?) within the artwork itself.

Beyond these two, the figure on the left is obviously Lord Shimmra (the glowing eyes closely parallel Nom Anor's description of him), but what is the apparently artificial tube that appears to be connected to his neck? Does this further cement the title of the book as The Unifying Force, by showing that the YV and the Jedi will recognize similarities between themselves, and understand how both fit in with the Force? Is this unique to Shimra? Is the pipe part of the mythical but previously nonexistent cortex that the YV have been so desperately trying to create?

Dude, that is Luke. Most of that Cover is a rehash of the Vector Prime Cover. (fireball, balding luke, blue speckled fram of picture)

I disagree. I have the VP cover right in front of me. He's MUCH older in VP, his hair style is different, his hair COLOR is different, the mark on his face is more pronounced and in a different location, and he appears to have more hair (though it's hard to tell because the fireball and Jacen's hair conceal most the area in question on the UF cover).

Thats not a tube on the cover that the end if a lightsaber. Its not attached to Shimmira

That's possible. The placement would be unusual for a cover, but I guess it wouldn't be unheard of.

What do you think is with the strip of fire on the Falcon? Obvious choice is that it's gonna be destroyed or damaged, but I dunno...

EDIT2: That planet in the background is NOT supposed to be red, that's fire... THe planet looks kinda like Mon Calimari I think...

I am really, reallly, REALLY holding out for a BDZ on Coruscant by Admiral Kerfay to purge it of the Vong.

Not going to happen, will probably end up with him being done away with by Jedi o halt him from releasing that plague, but I still hold hopes.

I REALLY don't think thats Luke, Master of Ossus's is right, he looks way too young! Maybe its.......Jagged Fel? Clutching at straws....

So whens it ment to be coming out anyway? Over THIS side of the Atlantic? Refugee only just came out over here so I take it it'll be a while....*sigh*

The individual in question looks more like Anakin Skywalker than Luke.

I was just trying to think of someone young in the NJO, Jag Fel was just the guy that sprang to mind.
Bringing back Anakin would tottaly remove the reason for him dying which is sad and like i said, he looks far too young to be Luke.

Wow, you mean they're already concluding the NJO series? When is this book going to be released?

I would have figured that they would continued the series for at least another 2-3 years...

I would've thought that too, but if they did it would have just been filled with ppl dying, ppl going to the dark side, hit and run's, the occasional big battle and finding out the the living planet (I forget its name right now) can't help that much in the war. I hate it when things are needlesly drawn out.

Well is Luke, Mara, Jacen and the rest are guna find the living planet (I still forget the name) then maybe it WILL win the war for them some how, and the Force Heretic trilogy represents the begining of the end?
After all, the empire was brought to an end in 3 films!

Well they seem to be getting more consistent with what the Vong look like. It is unfortunate though, with the quality of wiring seeming to decline again and so few books left the end is going to suck. The only way I think the Vong could be defeated without bullshit is Alpha red or whatever that virus was called. But that’s not going to happen.
