I say a negative level of canon, seeing as anyone and anyspecies can join the imperial navy, and become jedi's just as long as they put the time into it. The game shouldn't be classified as being anywhere near canon.

It will not be part of continuity, on any level. It really can't be, because it exists during the original trilogy, and so any plot changes could seriously alter SW canon. It cannot be considered canonical on any level.

First off: ::ahem:: THERE IS ONLY ONE "N" IN "CANON"
Second... it's a game. It's at the bottom of the barrel, meaning that almost everything else takes precedence over it. That doesn't mean that it won't have any standing... there may be some cool-looking gun you can get, or certain types of grenades, or other things which may be interesting to use in Vs. debates.

Not true. You can work for the Empire, but you can't join. As far a Jedi go, the game makers wanted to stay as close to continuity as possible, so people becoming force sensitve will be rare, and beeing a Jedi will be even harder. There is no set path, so it will be different for everyone, and how much time you spend playing will not have an effect. If your enterested go check out the web site.

It will be outside continuity. As will KOTOR.

If it's a game, it's not canon. Games usually use artistic liscense and stuff to make it more playable. In Battle for Naboo, it appears that the guns on the Flash Speeder have the same power as the guns on an N-1, for example. As for cannon, do you mean as in 'cannon fodder"?

Sorry Evil Jerk, my bad. You can join the Empire, I got my facts mixed up. I thought they were talking about stormtroopers, and they were talking about Darktroopers. I have haven't been to the Star Wars Galaxies site in a while.

Rebellion was an RTS and not an RPG. Galaxies will probably not only be the best SW game ever but also a high-ranking RPG. What other RPG is there that allows you to hop in a starship and travel to different planets? This is going to be like GTA 3 in space. LOL Only bad thing about it is that you have to pay monthly. Major turn-off.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Knights of the Old Republic. The screenshots look neat (I'm not a fan of MMORPGs, specially those that benefits the most addicted players and punishes the more casual ones because they aren't addicted enough - like when improving skills or gaining levels, for instance)
But after Neverwinter Nights my hopes aren't too high. Probably BioWare is going to use a similar engine for KOTOR. It does seem that you can look up to the sky, however.

They use the EverCrack engine. Does that answer your question?
