Hi, I'm new here.

Con you tell me why ISDs were not able to detect Falcon attached to the bridge tower of Avenger?

(since I'm sure this was discussed many times before, just point me to the relevant thread. Thank You in advance :) )

In the same way that a US navy AEGIS equipped warship wouldn't be able to use it's radar to track a small craft right alongside.
It should be pointed out that the Avenger DID have some chance of detecting the Falcon though - which is why Han quickly shut-down every non-essential system on his ship after landing.

Thank you for your reply :)

But... that brings another question: what about other ISDs? If I understand correctly, that all warfare jamming actually distorts profile of the ship, so that small extra bump could remain unnoticed?

It is probable that if they'd looked for the Falcon attached to the back of the Avenger, they'd have seen it (with sensors or eyeballs). But they simply accepted the words of Captain Needa and his crew, who told them that the Falcon 'must' have jumped to lightspeed, so they didn't look. So it doesn't really tell us anything about the capabilities of an ISDs sensors.

If you are interested Lord Wong has a long discussion about it with Robert Walper on one of their e-mail exchanges here. Just use the search function to find the first instance of the word "Falcon" on the page and you'll find the rellavent argument.
