Aurra Sing: Where is she now?

Post by Utsanomiko »

Did I fall asleep sometime between TPM and AOTC and wake up in a parallel universe where she never existed, or was all that hype of "Whoo, check her out! She's a cool bounty hunter who'll play a big role in Episode II!" a bunch of horse plop?

All these magazines acted like she was going to be the star of the 2nd film, all kinds of merchandise was made, all for some damn Powder-Look-a-Like-Sp00k that had Three Flippin' Seconds of screentime in the first film, and that was the end of it!!

Does anyone know if any more info is available? 'Cause one thing I hate more than glitzy hype that comes from nothing is glitzy hype that comes from nothing and goes further nowhere.

Her agent is trying to book her a gig on The Love Boat: Outer Rim Cruise, but once that tanks she gonna pose nude for Space Chick and have her poster in many a Stormtroopers wall locker.

I'm guessing that she was a failed attempt at creating another Boba Fett or Wedge. She was supposed to be the "cool" minor character that legions of fanboys would fall in love with for some reason or another. The thing is, although Boba Fett didn't do much in the movies, he at least did SOMETHING. Most people people who watched TPM didn't even take notice of her, whereas Fett's scenes were short but made him recognizable. Also, the fan favorite role was taken over by Darth Maul.

IIRC, you can see a glimpse of her in the Boonta Eve race. Just look for the tallish, albino type with weird red hair tied in an up-pointing pony tail (or something like that... IIRC,)

Okay if she is only in the movie long enough to get a glimpse of, then how come everyone knows her name? :?: :?

B/c we thought she would be the bad ass bounty hunter of those days b4 Boba. That's the reason why I remembered her.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

They made a big deal of her, with articles on Starwars.com and her own comic book series.

Aurra Sing's presence in the movie probably would not have left much room for the Fett family. I suppose the choice must have been pretty easy for Lucas; introduce a character that people may not like, or expand upon the life of an already-beloved character.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
