TheForce.Net is a waste of time. The whole site exists just to discuss rumours and give away spoilers for upcoming films. They host SWTC for Curtis which is very nice of them, but most of them don't seem to have any respect whatsoever for his methods, or indeed, for any kind of rational approach at all. It doesn't help that one of the head honchos (Josh) is an ardent creationist and full-blown baptist fundie.

I have to disagree. The forums are utterly retarded, obviously, but TimeTales and the Unofficial SW Encyclopedia are both great resources, in my opinion.

As is SWTC and the Ultimate Timeline. They seem to host good pages, but other than that, it's just a bunch of entertainment news, lame "humor" articles, and completely crappy forums.

The "EU" literature section and 'RPG' sections have there odd moments of usefulness if your doing research and such.

i.e if you want to find an exact qoute or have someone explain something above and beyond Timetales (in the rare times that is needed), or want to discuss a RPG rule outside of your own group of players.

I agree however, that most of the non-supported website stuff (i.e not Timetales, not Saxton's, etc) can be a big waste of garbage. I say waste of garbage, because at least garbage can be used as landfill

This thread was intended to be another mocking thread.

As you can see, its an example of how not to interprete canon policy. Saying everything is equal and canonical.

EDIT: Gestapo fucker locked the thread and refused to awknowledge the new quotes or anything, howling about "Forum Policy" and threatening banning.

I note the hypocrisy. They first say that "everything is canon and there's no hierarchy", and then go and establish a hierarchy by stating that the movies (and derivatives of movies!) form a higher level of canon.

Obviously. dp4m is a fascist close-minded little shit who obviously cannot find a dictionary or accept any dissention from his holy "official forum policy."

Illuminatus, is it even worth it any more? You're not going to make a dent over there. They obviously have their policy and won't change it no matter what quotes you substantiate your views with. Let them wallow in their ignorance I say.

dp4m wrote:Because there ISN'T any different definitions of canon.

There's Movie-level canon which applies to the movies and adaptations therein.

Then there's everything else.

Period.

ICS is not movie-level canon. Thus, it falls at the same level of everything else.
Asscrab.

As has been mentioned before, who cares what goes on over at TF.net? UInless they decide to invade us to some degree, why should we care what happens over there?

Why did some most examples of idiocy in SWvST. Its an example of poor debating and it can provoke discussion of various subjects (obviously those which can be controversial in SW fandom) and perhaps prepare us for future arguments along these lines in the future.

I'd stay the hell away from a forum where "discussing canon policy" is grounds for banning.
