Well, I dare say he saw how long it took the Jedi to get a certain distance away, then calced the acceleration with Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad.2). Mike, how'd you get those calcs for the Jedi force speed? I tried to do it myself, but I get a much smaller number than you (about 1/2 of yours IIRC).
