Hypothetical

After the fall of Corusant, The Imperial Remnant reveals a DS-1 that they've been constructing.... how does it do, unsupported vs the Vong?

Either way what is left of Coruscant will go big boom.

wether the battle can be won depends on the DS-1's defense against capital ships and wether or not its shielded. Otherwise it would be forced to retreat.

All the Death Star has to do is hyper in and blow the nearest planet. None of the Vong ships would survive.

by consequences
Given the shielding shown vs. the Alderaan detonation, the DS has nothing to fear against any of the Vong fleets we have seen so far.

Although i'd like to see try to superlaser a worldship and the beam just getting sucked into a void.

The voids have a limit to how much power they can absorb. They're also created by living things, they have to tire sometime.

Turbolaser broadside. Enemy fleet goes boom. Followed by BDZ. The Imperials retake Coruscant as prize.

Why the fuck would you like to see that happen? That would be the biggest deus ex machina, and people would probably throw down their books in utter disgust. That's KJA-level bad.
